Didier has programmed a very nice synth. Long time ago that I had so much fun with a soft-synth :) With Harmor it makes fun to use also the envelopes and program gates/stutter and other effects so easy.
Programming a bass is very quick with this additional pluck-knob (Lowpass/EG combination). Have a saw synth and some seconds later it's a bass :D
The sub-frequency slider gives the rest for the more "ooumph"... Then it can sound like that (on this bass is only Renaissance Bass + UAD LA2A):

I fine tuned also my Harmor Demo a bit (it's now a bit longer). But it's always only 11 instances of Harmor except the drums. No other synth was used.

tony tony chopper wrote:For more "normal" filters try "classic lowpass" (or draw your own), and for more snappiness you can still lower "ramping time" (but not under 5ms) in the ADV tab.
I'll try that out.

Sale end reminder bump. Oct.1st. Don't miss out if you are interested.

Good idea, it's kickass (already got it)!

@Igro&gol
I did some tests and both things are helping a lot. Still it's different to normal filters and it'd be cool to have those as an additional option.

I also just discovered a strange behaviour with the "perfect precision" option. If I use it (or it gets used with "HQ rendering"), there's a weird digital noise going on (sounds like something bit crushed).

Here is an example:
http://www.box.net/shared/vv0h7vtcpj397nz95nc9 (precision high)
http://www.box.net/shared/7ys7ba4azznm3i1kubno (precision perfect)

Edit:
Ah, it has something to do with the ramp setting. Every value with "xxms absolute" causes noise.
Also very small ms values with "partial relative" cause a bit of noise ... that's probably why you said "but not under 5ms".

I don't get it. Harmor filters working the same way as other synths a have.

can you attach a preset (or test project if you use FL) for me to check?

@Igro
No, actually the Harmor filters are working in an entirely different way.
Those are not effects in an audiostream ... they directly influence the volume of the generated harmonics.

Post

Indeed. With perfect precision, ramp on absolute values (any) is very notorious. Also on high precision, but on very low ramp absolute values (1-10ms).

Some people just used my discount link, thank you guys :)

...i asked this in the imagline forum too, what happens when u drag a sample with shift+leftclick? It seems the sample gets converted to an "overall image" but not sure.

Did it hurt?
THERE IS ALWAYS A WORKAROUND

Here's a small test-run of some of my presets:
http://www.box.net/shared/7p0effri9d05pdou0hp2
All Harmor + 2EQs + TesslaPro + Reverb (and a Limiter on the end catching the peaks).

Not a master-piece and could of course be tweaked and mixed much better, but it really surprises myself, how fast I got those patches together.
I don't remember, that I ever had that much fun with a new synth. :)

Sale is extended to Oct. 10 btw.

Nice. It can be used for soundtrack.

Post

Indeed, it can be used for all sorts of things.
Also it's very easy to get great sounds out of it. Usually I had problems with the handling of more complex synths, but Harmor is surprisingly easy.

Of course I still have to learn a lot to really make use of all its features, but as I said, I'm surprised how fast I got interesting sounds out of it (I'm rather nooby at that stuff).

The multipoint envelopes also make it a king for sequence-sounds.
