Cool! My favorite out of this month's bunch of synths. The "no host EQ" thing is no big deal, I just have to figure out which free one I am going to use.

Of course it can be Parametric EQ man, always it's free and available for all.
That was a little confussion with the FL Studio Parametric EQ, which is called Parametric EQ 2, lol.

You can use ANY EQ, any type, always it is free and available for all.

I will use EasyQ, nice with CPU and easy to use.

Last question about host effects. I use some host effects like glissando/portamento, speed change, some jumps and loops. I have a possibility to change VST parameters in the track and many others... that are all host effects too, should I avoid it in the composition?
So the question is what exactly we call host effects?

There is a lot of quite nice effects available, the point is only to buy the newspaper...

Magazine stuff isn't allowed (there was a little discussion in the main thread I think) because in other countrys people won't get them in time or get them at all.
About other effects - I'm not sure about that, but afaik everything that can be achieved by sequencing MIDI notes and running them through the VSTi is allowed, as well as automations - still somebody more firm with the rules should better say something about that

Hi and welcome Supernoise.

You don't need to vote in the previous vote thread to come and participate with nice track/s next month.

Autofilter is ok, because with a normal filter you can automate and earn the same effect. Besides is free and available to all.

About Portamento, automating levels, panoramics, this kind of little things that you can achieve easily with external VST are allowed. In fact they are not called Host effect, really, they are more like Midi tools.

What you can't use is effects like compressors, EQ (this time) reverbs and this kind of things.
Anyway, don't worry, you could do your track, and when you upload it to participate in OSC, we will help you to do it in the correct way, so we could say, "this is not allowed or this is it" just remember to make a proper text entry, so we will know what you used, and what not.

Host Effects are mostly:
Reverbs
Delays
Compressors
EQs
Modulation effects like phasers, distortions, chorus, vocoders, etc (which are not allowed already, external nor internal)

Of course, you can use modulation effects only if they were built-in in the synth already.

But changing BPM, volumes, panoramics, automatable parameters and this kind of things are allowed, in fact encouraged to demonstrate what you can do with the synth plus your Daw.

Remember about to NOT using any external sample, like guitars, voices, FX sounds, drumloops or drumkits.

All must be made with the synth.

About CM equip, obviously not, these are not free (magazine costs money) and also they are not availavle to all in some regions.

Reaper effects are allowed, since they are free and avaiable for all. One of the few other native Daw exceptions that are allowed. So completely yes.

Of course you can EQ or use a compressor, but only free external effects.

@SuperNoise @AtaRaxis:: Welcome here, like the others say anyone can join any time and host effects are basically everything that will color the sound.

All writing tools part of the DAW are ok as that's what the DAW is all about and I believe Looper is just that? Any sampling is ok as long as the exact same result could be made using the synth in real time so f.i. no stretching or pitching after.
