Shame with the lfo not syncing host, but an old-fashioned workaround is to use a music calculator to get the frequency for the tempo like SCal: http://www.expdigital.co.uk

Image

The hz frequency of the lfo can be read by going to UI mode (UI button on top of the FX window in Reaper) where the values are shown next to the slider.

Lol, thanks for the link mate. Great calculator.

About the SoundCloud problem they are talking about, well, it was during 2 days without working. But now it goes fine again.

Have a good day :)

Rule question:
Is a tremolo plug-in allowed? Specifically MTremolo. As far as I can tell it does the same thing as a gate or auto-panner, but maybe there's something I don't know? :?

I used trancegaters before, which does mute and unmute the sound.
Tremolo is the same but softly. I can't see any problem in using it.
So you can use it.

I use Renoise 2.7.0(32bit) under Windows 7(64bit).
Each time, I close my project I get:
---
Ouch. The VST plugin 'Dominique Wurtz: Charlatan (from Dominique Wurtz)' crashed in VST event/function: 'Dispatch', Thread: 'GUI'

IMPORTANT: This is a fatal error. Please save the current document under a !new! name to prevent losing important data. Renoise will silently ignore any following errors from this plug-in.

DO NOT IGNORE THIS ERROR; DO NOT CONTINUE USING THE PLUGIN. THIS CAN DESTROY YOUR SONG OR CAUSE OTHER RANDOM CRASHES AND PROBLEMS!

It's most likely that this is a bug in the VST plugin, so please report this problem to the authors of this plugin in order to get the problem fixed!

Best regards,
SNoise

You should upgrade to the latest version (2.7.2) and retry.

Tremolo is borderline modulation effect, but as it just volume being adjusted not a big deal. But do try to use the synth lfo as far as possible.

Not sure if I'll use the tremolo yet. Downloaded the melda free bundle to try the Mequalizer as a substitute for host eq and was playing around with the other plugs. Some good stuff in there, I like the Mcompressor too. Just wondering if Mtremolo is an option. I haven't had a chance to run Charlatan through it's paces yet but can tell from the screenshot that it has a nice LFO setup. I guess in the end I'll do whatever I think is best for the song as long as it follows the rules. 8)

Or if you don't want to download another program for this, fire up a trusty calc program. We know that Hz is cycles/sec, aka quarter notes/sec

X B/M / 60 s/M = Y B/s = Y Hz

For example, to figure out Hz for 113 BPM: 113/60=1.883, which would be for a quarter note, for an eighth, divide by 2: 1.883/2=0.9416, for a sixteenth, divide by 2 again: 0.4708.

There also happens to be a handy chart with some common divisions here: http://www.wiseguysynth.com/larry/convert/bpm_table.htm

No positive result after upgrade, still the same fault.

Just checking, is it ok to use freeware effect Vsts such as "KJAERHUS Audio Classic Reverb", "KJAERHUS Audio Classic Delay" and "ModernCompressor"? :help:

Hi and welcome to OSC Thrax.

Are they free? Yes, right?
Are they easily downloadable for everybody? Yes, right?

The classsic Kjaerhus series are now here:

Freeware hall-of-famers no doubt, still as good as most.
