The new update for Meteor on iPad looks great, audio recording, midi recording and virtual instruments. The only thing I can't get working is the midi quantise. No matter what I do I can't get it snap to where I want it.

Anyone else having this problem?

Yeah. You have to go out of the editor to the track view. Touch and hold your track until a menu of options occur. Choose quantise. It is a very annoying way of doing it, but I have not figured out how to quantise within the midi editor. Seems like you can only quantise the note lengths from within the editor. Anyway its zoom function is annoying too, since you have to zoom every time you open the editor, because it displays the notes in the smallest scale as possible. There is also a bug with the note lenght if you quantise in track view and return to the editor. So far, it has only been a PITA to me, so dispite all good intentions, Meteor will surely not be used a my main midi daw. Still a fine audio daw, however.

Thanks for the reply, I'll have a go at it. Maybe this will be addressed in a future update.

I tried quantise by holding the clip on track view but I still can't get it to work. Very frustrating.

You have to record a few notes on the track first in the editor view. Have you done that?

Yes I tried to input a hi hat part, note lenth 16th and tried to input a basic straight 8th pattern but the notes are all over the place. I've quantised from the edit menu, I've quantised in midi editor, I've tried holding the clip in the arrange window and quantising from there but no luck what so ever.

I get more accurate results just playing in the pattern than using the piano roll which is odd as I want to program beats using the pencil tool, I get usually get better patterns that way.

That is strange, but it can be a little unresponsive sometimes, now try this:

In the track view, "tap" the track a little hard until you can see a "shadow" beneath it and hold it. In about a second a pop-up menu should appear. It should be the track itself you tap and not the "mute, solo, arm" -bar.

Once you have quantised, the notes will snap to the new value, once you enter the midi editor and add new notes.

One more important thing. The app's quantise terminology sucks, so if you want to quantise in 1/8, you have to set it to "1/2 beat". If you set to "1/8 beat", you are actually quantising in 1/32 :nutter:

All in all, the midi editor is as close to useless as can be. I would not recommend the update to anyone at this point.

That's it all sorted, thank you very much.
