Ecallio, I sent you a PM with the link to the files. I also have a new performance with the new version that doesn't reload correctly as well. TX16wx doesnt do this all the time, but if I delete/ trim off parts of a sample & then slice it & save my project then reload the project it doesn't remember my trim settings and the slices are just loaded at the beginning of the file.elcallio wrote:That's weird. All older sound data is supposed to work. Did you mean txperf/txprog data (load save performance from UI), or FXB/Host bank data? Both should work, but perhaps I've missed something... Could you send me the files that do not work? I'd like to fix the issue.Saukar30 wrote:No sorries, needed, Ecallio. I recommend updating asap if you've downloaded 0.9.07.
Sorry.
Everything works right now. I cant load up any of the performances that I used with the previous version, but that's not an issue to me since I was just testing. Some other users may want to test that functionality though.

The +/- buttons seems to get stuck for me
I think i figured out what's causing this. A quick click and it increases one small step. Rest a bit before releasing and it will get stuck in "automode". One click again and it releases.
It took a while, but i figured out how to slice a loop and drag midi into energyXT ...... BRILLIANT!!!! Now to figure out how to add my own slicepoints..
I also managed to cause a crash in xt when deleting a group during playback .. doesn't say much, does it?
Is there a crashlog somewhere that i can send? Maybe it's hostdependable. Ill see if i can reproduce it somehow.
If you have maybe 50 drumsamples you'd want spread out on one key each, is there an easy way to do this? When i "add waves and create new group" or what it now was called, they got split up on a few keys each from very very low to very very high on the keyboard.
Thanks for developing this sampler! Realtime sampling rules! \m/

Just use "add loop", tweak start/end, then set mode to "Slice" or "PinnedSlice"Crackbaby wrote: It took a while, but i figured out how to slice a loop and drag midi into energyXT ...... BRILLIANT!!!! Now to figure out how to add my own slicepoints..![]()

Indeed there is a very quick way: Just set the groups key scaling to "fixed" (no transpose) and then add a batch of waves. They will be mapped to one each.If you have maybe 50 drumsamples you'd want spread out on one key each, is there an easy way to do this? Please help my dense skull...
A bank is what?
Having made 11 programs i dont dare messing around too much.
A performance is an amount of channels with certain programs selected, right?
But banks.. Are they banks for performances or banks for programs?
Is it possible to have a bank for each drumsample cd i have? When i add a new performance i can still access the same programs (of which i have divided into kicks, hihats etc). Maybe it's easier to just keep adding programs from all cd's but eventually i may reach 127 .. and then what?
Oh wait ... a bank is an fxb and performance fxp?
Is there a manual up yet where i can read about this so i dont have to waste your time?
It's amazing how easy it is to roll out a folder of kicks onto the keyboard and move on to next folder! Amazing!!!

A bank is simply the full contents of the sampler, i.e all performances, programs and waves you have loaded + the settings for external controllers, outputs etc. Typically you would save a bank for each project/song you work on.Crackbaby wrote:Please help my dense skull...![]()

The bank state can also be stored as FXB data (actual contents will differ depending on your settings for how to store waves), and this is the same data which is saved to preserve your DAW project state.
The manual is included in the zip file, second chapter describes the sound structure.

Hi guys,
TX16Wx is just fantastic!
A very creative tool!
A couple of things that i think would improve a lot its creative field of application are.
1. Bipolar modulation for Pitch via vst automation and all other mod sources ( now we can only modulate toward + and - direction...am i wrong?
2. Loop Start, Loop End, Loop Mode ( Forward, Backward, Bidirectional etc. ) modulation via vst and all other mod. sources, **while the note is playing**. This is essential for all those sample mangling tricks i ( we ? )love
many thanks to the developer and the community here.

Hi,
This is really kickass piece of software
. Had a ton of fun playing with this today.
I don't have full understanding on how the folders and presets work, but would be really good if you can make them work in manner that its really easy to share presets / samples.

I have a functionality question. It runs fine for me on REAPER 4, but can you load more than one sample in one group? I want to have the same filter and envelope settings on multiple samples, and I figured that having multiple samples in one group would be more efficient than copying the settings for each group.

Hi, I learned that you can right click the smaller box where samples are, click select all, then do adjustments.nineofkings wrote:I have a functionality question. Yes, groups are split into "splits", where each represent a keyrange and a sample. Right-click on the group in the keymapper, choose "add split" and then select another sample for the new split. Split key can be moved at will.nineofkings wrote:I have a functionality question. It runs fine for me on REAPER 4, but can you load more than one sample in one group? You can also drag-and-drop samples from explorer/DAW into an existing group to create a new split. See manual, section 5.2.

I found the manual now
Ty...
I have a little mouse-hand-hurt-dilemma.
Load a bank with more than 38 programs. Go to Performance tab. Click on a program to select a new one. A big menu pops up. In order to select program 39 you have to move your cursor down to More and then move mouse up to 39 (depending on how many programs you have in total).
It would be so much better if this menu was expanded as soon as you open it. If you're (un)lucky to have a hand with that precious painproblem, all these extra movements hurt. And the risk of accidently closing the menu by moving the mouse out of range keeps me awake at night. Almost..
There's a slight delay when opening the menu also but i guess that has to do with my computers configuration ... i will try to fix that asap here because it's somewhat annoying
It is so easy to make up a multitude of drumprograms by making a "preset" program (with a group) and then duplicate it. Drag about 40 samples from explorer, click the box, rename .. done!
I keep telling myself how amazing this sampler is as i work with it.
Thank you!
Ps. I wouldn't mind a doublesized version

at least i'll stop keeping my breath
i'd really like to know what elcallio thinks about it.
sorry for the pressure
but this is one of my favourite samples and since shortciruit is no more developed TX16Wx has the right tweak-freak appeal for me

Actually, modulation is quote "bipolar", the +/- you are talking about is just the scale in the modulation table (I assume?), where negative is pretty much just "reverse". However, since Midi controllers are unsigned by default, to hava true +/- modulation you have to set up your controller to use an "offset", essentially placing the midpoint of the controller values. Typically you would set the external controller offset to 63 for equal positive/negative modulation. Note that this effectively halves the range of the controller though, so you will want to scale up your modulation value by 2.lalo wrote:Hi guys,

If you use a "Param" instead (VST automation), the modulation value is by default "bipolar".
I experimented with per-sample loop point modulation. Imho it cost to much cpu for a feature that at least I find dubious (I'm so oldschool). The problem is mainly that even if you don't use loop point modulation, the calculation and checks will still impact all voices. Not sure how much in demand this feature is. I still couldn't really make a sound where this feaure actually made any real sense...2. I did another experiment right now to check it on reaper 4.11pre2
I'm actually using a "Param", but it's unipolar.
i.e. if i set a param00 to pitch modulation with amount +12 st when my automation parameter is at 0 the pitch is at orignal value if my paramenter is at its maximum the pitch goes 12 st up.
would be great to have it working that the original pitch is when you have your parameter at its middle value.
Thanks for the info. It's very difficult to convince you if you are old-school ( and i respect it a lot, believe me ).elcallio wrote: I experimented with per-sample loop point modulation. Those kind of loop and direction ( ffw, rev ) modulation are essential for getting glithy sound and strange rhythmic modulating loops which are not so much old-school.
The thing is that TX16Wx is the only sampler that i know ( except Shortcircuit that is no more developed, sadly ) that goes really in the direction of the "tweak-freak paradise". Could you probably implement it as an option with an enable/disable button in the setup page?
i.e. " Enable Loop start, lenght , forward/reverse/bidirectional modulation [ON/OFF] "
ah...loop lenght works better as a mod destination than loop end. in this way we don't have the problem to worry about the fact that the end go before the start point.
many thanks again for your attention.
...i really hope to convince you

Hi elcallio,
When I was messing with "mod" settings I noticed that I can't set the VELocity,or KEY to modulate any parameter(eg. pitch).Could you check it?99% I am missing something but I give up!
Also I can't understand the meaning of creating a "new group" in which I can't find the way to assign a wave,so it remains a new "empty" group.
EDIT:(I am stupid!).I just found that in the "Keymap" ,by right clicking the new group you can assign a wave...cool!That feature also helps to assign a new sampled sound to a group instantly...
Finally I would recommend to assign key shortcuts to as many actions you can(slice, assign to group,separate..etc) to help speed up the workflow in live jamm situations!
Thanks (again!)
