By the way I tried the Plughugger presets tonight and believe the soundbank to be good value regardless if its been approved or sanctioned by refx or not.

Wow, heated debate. Seems just as many people like it or hate it. I didn't realize there was so much RED HOT passion towards this synth. Every synth has something I like about it, I was just want to know what was behind it. Try not to read between the lines.

But i just kinda zoned out and didn't think about the VENGEANCE sound designer on board. I know anything with that name has a huge cost, so therefore that's the reason.

Thanks for all the inputs people. I'll reconsider it once the wallet agrees

I can only afford 1-2 products right now so i have to be PICKY.

I didn't mean to say "I CAN't MIX" it in my work, but its not like just plop it in my work and its mixed and I can turn my project in. No, nothing i do is like that. I have to tweak something. That goes for ANY synth or any instrument PERIOD. Gotta eq, turn tweak delay (especially) etc.

I take slight offence here.

I actually worked harder on those sounds than you say. Have you even tried the sounds yourself? PM me and I'll give you a Manuel Special Edition. And while you're at it - give me access to the official library maker and I'll make a bass expansion that will blow your pants off

But on a more serious note. I might add there is way way more parameters available to us mortals in Nexus 2 than to for example the Arturia Minimoog, and that is a hell of a synthesizer.

The plughugger sounds are just as high quality as the factory library IMO.

I can't praise them enough, they are really that good.

This is why I think Omnisphere may be the better buy for most people. Of course those who just want quick sounds for Dance/Trance should go with Nexus. The Dance/Trance sounds in Omni are not bad at all though and there are quite a few.

Probably because people pay more for the quality Nexus gives.

Can't wait till 1st December the new added features alone plus what you already get is a steal, just add the expansions as you can afford, like i say i often listen to the expansions on offer and have yet to find any duff sounds. When Nexus3 eventually comes out then it's time for many expansion packs by me haha.

I don't know why many moaning about the price of nexus. Nexus itself is more as fair priced!

A: A fast and eady to use instrument which gives him ready-to-use sounds.

-> exactly this is Nexus, and through this, many artist using Nexus in their songs, so you have next to this with nexus also directly the sound-source of many well-known sounds in popular productions/songs.

Total win/win. As musican in the edm area, Nexus is kind of a must-have.

And under point, of the huge factory, which ships with Nexus2 the price is defintiv fair, only the expansions are in my eyes quite overpriced. Nearly 60€ for 128/150 sounds is not a good balance, specially through the point, they are sounds for a rompler, where you have as user no real space for tweak the sounds intensiv, compared to a normal soundset, where you have also ready-to-use sounds, but all freespace for changing them, which usually costing 20-40€ for 128 sounds, the expansions looking defintiv to expensive.

When Nexus3 eventually comes out then it's time for many expansion packs by me haha.

Also if Nexus3 will be opener, you will defintive didn't have the change/possibility to edit ALL, or loading own new samples in there. Maybe a very deeper access as in Nexus2, but surely not the options as with the SD-version. Which is quite logical, would Nexus3 completly open, with expansion maker function etc, shortly after the release, a mass of 3rd party expansion would overrun the market, and surly a big amount of them would be bad, more worse as the official expansions. Which would automaticly colouring the quality-image of the product ifself negativ.

Fair point although i never had any complaints yet with the sounds i supplied to some of the worlds top producers that i don't make in my commercial banks available to the public.
Now i think of it if i was reFX or Manuel i would NOT open up Nexus2 or 3 to the public because as you said "an over run market" would happen for sure and then maybe the quality and whole idea of the Nexus is gone for good..
