try photone from reaktor's factory library, it has a great collection of atmospheric sounds there, lots of craziness, too, though. there's also metaphysical function, but I don't think it's good at making sweet sounds. or perhaps not many has made sweet sounds with it.

That was just an example made for this thread.

Custom presets? There are two: The string pluck is one of my own (String Studio), so is the tinkly bell tapestry at the end (Alchemy). The flute is a preset from RA. The strings come from Roland TTS-1 general midi plugin.

If you have Komplete 8 then you have FM8, so eventually you could be interested by our freshly released Gloss Spell bank for the FM8.

Here's a single instrument demo ( little impro with a single preset )

Then in the Keys and also in the Pads separate instrument demos see if you can find something that could eventually fit your needs :

I feel like there's lots of this type of stuff in Komplete.

Just use the browser in each of the synths to narrow down the choices. You don't need to go through all the presets, just select categories you're interested in like pads or soundscapes in absynth for example. Or keys/bells or something with some modifier like ambient. All the NI synths have these attributes to find what you're looking for. Also the mutate function in absynth is great for creating new synths within a category. For example if you have pads selected it will mutate between pad type sounds.

Also you could use the traditional instruments in Kontakt with a big reverb.

Making the audio demos for a soundbank or a synth is indeed not the worst part of the job

Very relaxing (at least for me) Though, I'd like to spend more time on them to better them and improve my writing. Can't afford to spend more than one average day on tracks
