Got it. It's great instant fun, but a bit dissapointing that you can't import anything of your own, just play around with the built-in presets. I've never tried a real Kaossilator, how's the import options there, and how does it compare in other ways?

It's a lot easier to use and saving your own loops and phrases is brilliant because you couldn't do that with the original yellow one. You could never import anything, but why would you want to when it's so easy to create your own using the app.

Has no one else tried this? For such an unexpected and not that hyped an app, it's really great.

Only iPhone though, not universal. I'm a disappointed iPad user, as I've stopped buying iPhone only apps, because at 2x they just look so ugly...

I'm using I t on my iPad 2. It doesn't look too bad, it's not pixelated or anything.

Was initially excited about this when I read about it, but I too was disapppointed that its an iphone app.
May not look pixelated, but the GUI for 2x apps is not designed for ipad to begin with, so invariably they (the GUIs) do suck.

Yea I suppose your right, but it is still functional and easy to operate, I actualy prefer it on iPad than iPhone.

Actually, on second thought, its more of a factor when it comes to games. With music apps, its not so debilitating that it affects functionality. But its still annoying enough that its kept me away from apps like nanostudio, so far.

I'm hoping that Korg make a pro version of ikaossilator for iPad, maybe with an included Kaoss pad for FX.

that'S better than the pro, it records mdi data, you can change scales and sounds of the recorded instruments
only downside is lack of track volumessometimes you record the perfect take just to find that its louder than the drums
but over all, im thinking of selling my kaossilator and ill use the ikaoss live, tho it lacks a noise swee, main use i make of the k01 at the moment

midi sync would be great over line6 or ik interfaces, bluetooth sync is crappy at best and pretty much inexistant with a laptop

edit that sucks, the sync app for the monotribe receives midi clock and start/stop over wirelerr midi from coremidi, but the newer ikaossilator wont receive it, only wants bluetooth :(

Didn't want to start up a new thread on this app, but got into it this weekend and this app is really fun. Prefer it on iPad over iPhone because the touch surface has more room for precision with my fingers, but you can create quite a bit with it. I thought it would be more limiting, but really allows you to customize the patterns that are within it, then record new stuff using the preset sounds. I got this on a price drop notification and paid half price, but really is instant fun.

I agree. One of my favorite music apps so far. Now I just need to see if there's any way to sync it to my other gear.

It connects over WIST, not sure if that helps cvonnect to external gear, but it is fun to connect to other istuff (I have PAD and Phone)
