thanks again.

are you guys having any stability issues at all? the synth sounds great, but about 50% of the time if I change a setting, I get this loud noise that sounds like a video game noise, and then no more sound. I have to restart Logic to get it working again. guess that's what happens when Logic refuses to validate something.
Yeah, the path setting is a bit weird but at least you only have to do it once for every new bank.

The synth seems stable in use for me, but I do occasionally get the loud noise then no sound issue you are experiencing, but I just option click on the synth in the inspector to reset it and that seems to work so far.....at least for me it does!
WOW. the noise was so loud this last time, that I think I am officially through experimenting with this one. i was wearing headphones and the howl was so loud that my daughter woke up in the next room; although to be honest, she may have heard me tearing off the headphones and muttering "holy shit."

will give it another try when I don't have to use the wrapper.

Daichi says as follows:

I think this bug which getting loud noise is a serious problem, so I'd like to fix it as soon as possible.
I want to know some information from those who faced this problem.
1. What host are you using?
2. Which version of Synth1 are you using(latest one is beta"6")?
3. When did it happen?
michael2 says "about 50% of the time if I change a setting", but WHICH SETTING do you mention about?

hi there, lets see:
1. i'm using Logic 9 on OS 10.6.8
2. using the latest build of synth1 "6"
3. it started out as a loud ping sound when I would browse pre-sets. the ping would happen and then the synth would no longer play (but the channel meter was all the way up like it was too hot). the last few times it happened, it was no longer a ping sound but when browsing the presets, a patch would start up at an obscenely loud volume level. you can't turn down the channel to accommodate this; it needed to be muted to stop the sound.

thanks, if this bug is fixed and an AU made available, I would really like this synth.

hi all,

I have downloaded both the plug-in and the au manager. When I run the au manager it shows an error next to Synth1. When i click on it, it says could not load bundle executable. I have tried to empty my VST folder only leaving synth one but it still doesn't work.

Mac OS version is 10.5.8

Any help with this would be great

thanks

Ok just a quick report. After upgrading the os to 10.6.8 I can load synth1 into Cubase LE 4 and it's up and running.

Thanks a lot for the help
Avi

AviZiv wrote:Thanks folks for the quick advice. Looks like an OS incompatibility because Reaper couldn't find it either. I ordered OSX 10.6

Until it comes, I can experiment with Zebralette. That one works with my os version.

Cheers
Avi

In my experience, the loud noise seems to be related to presets which have the Delay effect activated by default. If I turn off the Delay module, the noise disappears. This is with Synth1 beta6 and Cubase 6 as a host in Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

Here's Daichi's comment:

I also reproduced this noise bug on my Mac.
This might be newly mixed in on beta6.
I'm going to fix it for the next version.
I'd like to say thank you for those who gave information to me.

I can confirm this finding

thanks Vic, I actually got it worked out by pulling most of my VSTs from their folder, then wrapping synth1 and putting everything back afterwards.

Yes.
Your trying to run the Windows version of Synth1.
You downloaded the wrong one.

thanks for the reply..

When I initially found this problem I thought that I might not have downloaded the correct version but its definately the mac version. Tried a second time and then a third but still no joy. This was on friday so their might have been a problem with the download link on the site. Im thinking it might be my old version of OSX

thanks again

I have tried again but still no joy. I have removed the vst extension from the folder and can confirm its definately the mac version. The synth1 site says the file needs to be unzipped once downloaded but I assume Finder automatically does this as the file size increases to 940kb. I have noticed that in the AU conversion manager that another vst(that I previously downloaded) also fails to open as it can't find the bundle executable...strange!!

anyone else had this problem??

thanks
