You can try the default blue skin - it's available for download at http://www.bigtickaudio.com/rhino/downloads
Or try karten's Alloy2 (search for it in this forum).

Could somebody please shed a light on development for Logic 64-bit (Mac Audio Unit)? Is Rhino still 32-bit AU or already 64-bit AU? And if it's still 32-bit, are there any plans going to 64?
Thanks a lot.
kind regards
Tom

It's 32 bits AU only for now. 64-bit AU will come but I can't give an ETA yet.

Thanks. What I ended up doing was replacing the rhinotabs.bmp file in the autoMIDI skin with the one from the alloy2 skin. Kind of reversed from the way the rest of the skin works, but hey, I can see it! Looked at that file in the blue skin, and that one was going to be unreadable as well.Big Tick wrote:You can try the default blue skin - it's available for download at http://www.bigtickaudio.com/rhino/downloads

Yeah, $20 does not require brain matter
but for some reason the standalone version is quite glitchy with some patches, mostly pads and strings. The audio starts to stutter. I've tried it in Cantabile and it's fine so no biggie but just wanted to check if it was a known issue.
I'm noticing some patches in the demo emit a really high pitched squeal as well so i'm going through the patches with some trepidation.
Other than that, great sounding synth.

Ok - so I have bought Rhino - downloaded it and installed it (3 times now) and I can't find it!
Not in applications folder, not in a file search, and not as an AU in Logic! How do I find it? I have Mac 10.6.8 with Logic 9.1.5

I can't save patches in AU preset format in Logic, it saves and then reverts to the original patch, all changes are lost...

I only use 32 bit mode - Interestingly enough 10 minutes later and now it appears in Logic - but in demo mode only.Sampleconstruct wrote:Boot Logic in 32 Bit mode and you'll find it...simonden wrote:Ok - so I have bought Rhino - downloaded it and installed it (3 times now) and I can't find it!

Yes - Logic does this on boot (due to my craving of buying plugins) but it now only shows in demo mode, even though I have the key file installed.Big Tick wrote:Did you rescan in Logic ?
The audiounit is installed in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/rhinoau.component

Maybe you didn't write the patch first ? All changes you make are actually done on a temporary preset, so that you don't overwrite the factory ones inadvertently. So if you want to save a preset, after modifying it, you have to right-click on the preset, and select "write...".
Also obviously, if you are still in demo mode, you won;t be able to save. Is your key file in the right place ? For Mac it is $HOME/Library/Application Support/BigTick/rhino (not /Library/Application Support/...)

Is this *standard procedure* even outside of "Logic". Good to know if so.Big Tick wrote:So if you want to save a preset, after modifying it, you have to right-click on the preset, and select "write...".
Thanks again for this deal. Amazing

Cool, thanksBig Tick wrote:Yes. This is not related to Logic at all.
I'm assuming there is a "write AS/save AS" prompt?
(I am WAY psyched about making some presets for this)
