I believe all the U-He synths (including the free ones) can be randomized with the use of a little script that Urs (and others I believe) developed.
The script is here:
http://u-he.com/PatchLib/presets/all/u- ... omizer.zip
You just unzip that into the synth preset directory of the synth you want to randomize and click the preset (can't recall the name of the preset) and it will instantly randomize the current patch a certain amount.

The free reaktor player has randomizing and preset merging function.
I often do think, though, why reaktor player doesn't get mentioned more often in the free synth threads. Carbon2 is an absolutely wonderful synth with a very wide range of sounds possible, and for a free synth I dare say it's one of the best. with the latest patch you can save your custom presets, too, so that's no longer an excuse.

I can't find a randomizer button on DaHornet; wonder if the AU version is different than VST.

You can use EnergyXT 1.x (not 2.x) which lets you load VSTi's and VST's and connect them to your hearts desire. It features a morph and randomization feature (to varying degrees e.g 10%, 24%)which will work with any of a plugins parameters that can be automated. In other words, you should be able to morph and randomize patches of most plugins.

The seasoned randomizer will use 3 scripts, renamed to begin with letters AAA, MMM and ZZZ,hardwired wrote:I believe all the U-He synths (including the free ones) can be randomized with the use of a little script that Urs (and others I believe) developed.

so you can instantly see, and click one of them in any area of the preset file requester.

If memory serves, the Tweakbench VSTIs have randomize buttons; it looks like more than half of them do, anyway.
