Why do I feel like it's gonna take months again for Jo to make another appearence here after this?
I don't want to be rude or anything, but I don't have much sympathy for a developers personal life and to be honest all of this just makes me a bit mad.
There's no way to tell from Jo's post whether anything will be released in the near future (or ever). Also how do we know if he has actually got anything done during this time of waiting?
I guess it's just that my patience is heading to an end...
For now I'd just need the "minor update" that brings me more mixer channels and I'll be happy for a long time. And, like i've stated before, I'd pay just to get that. I don't need anything fancy, feature-wise I like the way Muzys is now.
And again I must apologize if I seem rude.

Hello Everyone,
All i can say is that i cannot make any promisses about updates for the near future, and that the shop will stay closed meanwhile.
I tell you this so that you don't stay in doubt.
I apologize for any unfulfilled whishes at this moment.
But i'm hopeful and confident that Computer-Muzys and Muzys 3.14 are great musical tools.
Get the most out of it !
Thanks for all your kind messages !
Respect,
Jo

Sorry to say that, but you talk like a politician. Some more details would be in place after nearly half a year of silence.
I bought Muzys for Mac just about 1 week before you closed the shop and said you would work on the OSX port and other projects. Fortunately I am still working with OS9. So what have you done the last 5 months, apart from discussing with your friends and relatives about what great software Muzys is? Have you been working on it or have you taken a break from it?
Or have you perhaps been working on it and then decided that what you've programmed is not the right direction? That would not be a shame and nobody here will slap you for it - just please tell your customers! Talk text in clear, don't talk like a politician.

With all respect Jo, how can I get the most out of it when I cannot get hold of it, when you will not sell it to anyone or make it available in anyway?muzycian wrote:But i'm hopeful and confident that Muzys 3.14 is a great musical tool.

I'm with skybax, this drives me crazy. If it's a question of not having the time or resource to work on Muzys, please consider letting others help, Muzys doesn't deserve to die.

Indeed!perrottjones wrote:If it's a question of not having the time or resource to work on Muzys, please consider letting others help, Muzys doesn't deserve to die.
This IS a good idea, especially as there are no guarantees about further development...
I'm already planning to switch hosts. I've been struggling with the existing 16-ch mixing desk in the hopes that a future update will do something about it. Now I know there might not be an update, so I gotta move on and stop waiting for something that will never happen. shit does, though.

I can understand you cannot make any promises, but I really cannot understand why the shop will stay closed meanwhile.muzycian wrote:Hello Everyone,

I think so too. THAT'S WHY I WOULD LIKE TO BUY IT!muzycian wrote: But i'm hopeful and confident that Computer-Muzys and Muzys 3.14 are great musical tools.
Believe me... it's difficult to get the most out of a product you cannot have!muzycian wrote: Get the most out of it !
I hope you will change idea at least about the shop.muzycian wrote: Respect,

Believe me: this way of act is a commercial suicide... **IF** you are planning to continue your business with Muzys in the future.
Bye...

Sorry you lost your inspiration on the project Jo, but I personally understand that's the rub with being a 1-man show. I'm glad though that you were good enough to cancel the shop to keep new buyers from feeling dumped.
The only way you can really keep Muzys going is to get a larger company; like a Korg perhaps, to buy it up (but even then it may be a little too little/too late as many others are fighting for dominance in this area now) and let you program. It's not a sell-out but a reality.
Good luck in whatever you choose. Hopefully we'll all see a re-invented Muzys on the market someday.
Best... Scott

My thoughts exactly. Muzys is too good (and worth too much) to die silently. The company that really needs to buy it, though, is Ableton. The Live forums are always active with demands for a midi side and Muzys makes an excellent companion for live. If Muzys could rewire slave into Live, it would be perfect. The only way you can really keep Muzys going is to get a larger company; like a Korg perhaps, to buy it up
And all life's fears
Can invade my ears
I can handle it
Can invade my ears
I can handle it

I think that M3 has ReWire capability already??SecondSkin wrote:Right On!! I know there has to be some other product out there that Muzys would tie right in with. The company that really needs to buy it, though, is Ableton.

Personally I think Jo ought to sell Muzys for his customers sake. There' alot of dedicated users out here now (especially with CMuzys) and he's not being fair to us with his obtuse postings every 6 months.
Sell this puppy and get on with whatever else you want to do with your life man!
I've gone to another host, the wait was too long, so aquiring Muzys is no longer on my "wish-list". But it's almost a matter of principle at this point. To keep Muzys tucked away under your mattress after so many ppl get hooked on it is just out of integrity.

Jo, I must say I am very angry and dissapointed with the way that you have handled communicating with the very people who have so staunchly supported you. I agree with the statement that your response is like a politician. It was "canned" and purposely designed to be vague. Grow up.
I'm getting the hint though...
It is very likely you will sell Muzys to an interested company. I may be way off base, but I don't mind speculating at this point because you have obviously been noncommunicative on purpose.
I am also guessing that you are a kid or teenager, because no adult with half a brain would do business in this way. If you have personal problems or are burned out then pretend to be a man and say so.
You were doing so good, and then you completely dropped the ball. It truly is a shame. I won't even go into how you have shot yourself in the foot with Computer Music Magazine. My god, it was months and months of free publicity that you essentially threw away! What a f**king waste!! If I was them, I certainly would be looking at something else.
Can't say I'll be holding my breath anymore....

Would everyone please CHILL OUT!!
Geez. All this bitterness because your free software isn't good enough for you. Well, OK, I can understand people's frustration, but some of the bile here is getting a bit out of hand. If you don't like what's on, the change the bloody channel.
If anything, all it tells me is that Muzys IS a unique piece of software which a lot of people will miss.
As for him being too seceretive, since when does a software developer owe us an explanation of his personal issues? This is none of my business, none of your business, one of anyone's freakin' business.
As for what he should do with the code if he decides to discontinue development? That, too, is his prerogetive. He built it. Y'all just use it, and that does NOT give any of us any proprietary claim on him, his time or his software. In fact, if he does discontinue development (still a big IF at this point), my bet is that he open sources it under some kind of GPL. This would be way more in the spirit of how he's done things in the past. Muzys was never about the money. It was about the music. But if he does sell it to whoever, and they choose to price it exorbitantly, so be it. And I bet y'all be complaining about that too.
Jo should "grow up"? Maybe you haters should grow up...
peace, lk
