Actually, I've even considered removing the standalone, since there are so much better alternatives (like the excellent savihost). But for some reasons, some users like it, and begged me to keep it.lotus2035 wrote:The standalone is very buggy on my system. Plug-in is no problem.

You mention using FLStudio so it's not a problem with the standalone ASIO settings. I guess it depends which presets you use. Some of the presets use the internal step sequencer, which means that 1 note actually triggers up to 16 notes internally. Now play a 8 notes chords, and you're headed towards a cpu overload.Caine123 wrote:1. when i play on my pc keyboard for example few notes at the same time in fl studio it gets slower and stuttering, no other vst has this prob.
That's a confirmed bug in V2.10 - when reloading a project, it automatically loads the first preset. I'll release a patch ASAP.2. i reloaded a project and it reset my patches :/

Thanks for quick turnaround, but...Big Tick wrote:here you go - there is a hotfix ready to download here.

I don't use standalones myself apart from trying some presets now and then.Big Tick wrote:Actually, I've even considered removing the standalone, since there are so much better alternatives (like the excellent savihost). Actually, I'm going to test this with other synths, but now it looks like a FLS bug to me. From what I can see, FLS sends the proper bank to Rhino, but then forces it to select the first program.

Looks like you didn't understand the concept of the Wavestation at all. It's not made to replace a VA synth but it's THE "pad machine" since it was released in around 1990/1991 (the hardware). I got a Wavestation EX and the plugin and love both of them.androidlove wrote: i tried wave station. the sounds are weak, and it's about sequencing within the synth. that's a limited way to sequence. a host lets you do that and more with any synth
About the sequencing: it's called "Wavesequencing" which means you could morph through many waveforms (30+ and more!!) using a sequencer which could include crossfading too. Besides that you got the vector stick with programmable movement which gives some great results too. Of course this is more fun if you got the "real thing". I got my Wavestation EX (the version with double ROM and extra FX) in 2004 for around 300 Euros.
BTW the Wavestation was created by Dave Smith who also invented the Prophet VS.
The ROM of the Wavestation includes all Prophet VS waveforms.
Tony Banks of Genesis used the Wavestation in all albums and tours from the beginning of the 90s (e.g. "we Can't dance") until the last tour in 2007.
The lead sound in the song "Fadng Lights" (in "We Can't Dance, 1991) is based on a polyphonic version of a factory sound of the Wavestation called "Mini Lead".
"Fading Lights" live in 1992:
The lead sound starts at around 4:24. In the plugin it's found in the Bank "ROM11" at preset No. 4. The presets includes aftertouch control for additional vibrato.
As you see the pad sound at the beginning is played on the Wavestation too.
That pad sound could be preset No. 27 from the same bank called "Warm Strings", maybe with some more Chorus FX.
a cover song:
BTW the Wavestation could use up to 32 oscillators (4 x
