Nice, thanks for reply. Wanted to pick up Rhino ever since hearing one of Himalaya's soundbanks for it.Big Tick wrote:Yes, of course. Thanks for the heads up about Himalaya. I have their stuff for Alchemy, and love it. The Rhino banks are even on sale as a bundle at the moment! And I can now confirm that they do work just fine in the audioMIDI version of Rhinojackrabbit wrote:Nice, thanks for reply. Well at 55MB I could downloasd it over a couple of evenings. So... will a download manager work or not?

Did anyone figure out how to go around the bug/problem with the AudioMidi registration of Rhino? The instructions tells to go to
http://www.bigtickaudio.com/enter-reseller-code
And after registration type in the serial number AudioMidi provided. The problem is that if you have an existing account at bigtickaudio (such as when you demo-tested Rhino long time ago) you can't register. So you are forced to log in and there's no other url path to do the AudioMidi registration. And if you use the URL above you are kicked back to the registration page and thus the evil circle continues...
Any ideas how to go around this much appreciated. I'm sure this is the problem for anyone else using the AudioMidi deal and already have an account at bigtickaudio. And yes I don't want yet another email address registered, have enough of email addresses already to baby sit...

Ok, sorted it out myself. I had to log in and the earlier password I got from BigTick didn't work so I generated a new one and then I finally was inside the BigTick site and using the URL I could get the needed box for the AudioMidi registration.
As for still speaking for the BigTick site, please fix the issue with the key registration as the second right text colum has a title such as 'retype' and it's not clear if this refer to the right-top column (email repeat) or the second row left column (password). Just confuses anyone and it's easier to just spell out what needs to be retyped.

Damn, maybe it's because it's early morning, but I can't see which field you are talking about. The registration page says "Password" and "Password (repeat)" which should be self-explanatory.ksandvik wrote:As for still speaking for the BigTick site, please fix the issue with the key registration as the second right text colum has a title such as 'retype' and it's not clear if this refer to the right-top column (email repeat) or the second row left column (password). Regarding the audioMIDI registration, yes, if you already have an account on the site, you simply need to login first before going to http://www.bigtickaudio.com/enter-reseller-code. Of course, every other user has forgotten his password, so if you don't see the "logout" button in the top right corner after trying to login, you can reset your password at http://www.bigtickaudio.com/lost-password

I bought regular(?) Rhino back at the beginning of this year from Big Tick. Is there any difference between that and what Audiomidi is selling, other than the additional sound banks???

This gives you the licence for both mac and PC and has a different skin or something. I got it to get a mac licence and then found out I had two PC licences, which was nice

Is there an INT patch in the full version?
And is there a lazy mode for loading samples? I'm using OSX and I can't even find a SFZ creator. Something that grabs the file names in a directory and appends default info? I mean "Name of directory" 0-127|"Filename.wav"|440|0|"actual length of sample" would work for me most of the time. Otherwise I'm probably just going to call my files 1,2,3..99.
I'm using the 2.09 demo with Logic and there are some nasty bugs. I'm grabbing 2.1 now, but switching waveforms causes a CPU spike. More dangerously, if you set FX to serial with no FX loaded you get a super loud noise blast.
A minor bug is that when dragging to copy ops the icon can get "stuck" with the "no copy" graphic. On the other hand this is a super cool feature.
Minor usability gripes: For Osc Level the first envelope point is selectable, but it appears there is nothing you can do with it? Mouse wheel zooming feels backwards to me, as scrolling up zooms out and down zooms in. If you close the window and reopen it goes back to the main page rather than where you were last. You can't turn off the FX by clicking the green light as with the OSCs. On my 13" macbook the GUI feels small, not unreadable, but it feels less immersive or something. I dunno, I'm comparing it to FM8 and it doesn't actually seem dramatically smaller and in fact the overall GUI is bigger. On closer inspection maybe rhino is a bit fuzzy or it's just a lack of contrast? Jacking up the brightness helps. I'll have to try out a different skin.
Overall, I like Rhino. It seems to have a very clear sound. I'd love to see the wave shape switching CPU issue fixed and wave sequencing possibilities!
ETA: There really needs to be a limiter in this thing. I was messing with the feedback on a filter, whoa. Between the FX issue and this, I dunno.

Yes. Be super careful with the filter feedback. This can get really, really nasty. On the other hand it can also bring wonderful overtones, which is why it is left untamed - but use at your own risk !jonahs wrote:ETA: There really needs to be a limiter in this thing.
