Then again, if I saw that right: 5 bands PLUS LP/HP, same with the AudioDynamicEQ (only here 7 bands plus LP/HP). Unless the screenshots fooled me.

But thanks for the clearing.
Will definitely keep an eye on it since HOFA is only downwards compression, and IQ4gui (IQ42) is SE/SM shell and not cross-platform.
Sure, if 5 bands is enough, you won't use modulators nor autoequalization, then MDynamicEq is for you ;). MAutoDynamicEq is like an enhanced version, but for me the automatic eqing is pretty necessary :).

So, I just upgraded to MTotal bundle to avoid the hassle from on. Now I'll just get any mastering or creative plugin for free as they are released :D I've been wanting to upgrade for a long time. Very happy :)
And that's the best idea! ;)

I am confused... is this essentially a multi-band compressor?

No!! It's a normal equalizer, which can however move the bands automatically and this concept proven to be very useful in many cases and at the end it partially replaces multiband compressors actually, but generally there is no crossover and it works more like an equalizer than a compressor.

Wow! This is a seriously powerful plugin! Got some very nice results with it after some head scratching.

I found a bug too it seems. In the settings panel the plugin doesn't seem to remember when I de-click the high quality resampling. I want to disable it and have every plugin instance remember the setting. I tried overwriting the default preset but nothing works. It always resets to having the resampling at high quality (I like the sound of the normal oversampling more.. which I guess is minimum phase).

Anyhow, this is a very nice plugin at an extremely attractive price. If you know what you are doing, then this is highly recommended! It could even become a true "secret weapon" in mixing and mastering. :D

Here is an example of some subtle "mastering" I did for a track of mine. It's done at home with this crappy laptop of mine and using headphones so I might actually have screwed it up but at least here it sounds fantastic!

Original clip

MdynamicEQ magic fairydust; 3 EQ bands in dual-mono configuration, a tiny bit of the saturation thing (around 2%).

EDIT: I just realized my example is probably a bit too subtle for some but I assure you there is a significant difference between the two files, at least to me!

Listen especially to the kick how it is more powerful, yet has more space around it and also to how the snare got softer. Finally you can clearly hear the whole track being less "confusing" and crowded once the electric piano thingy comes in after the first 4 bars.

Cheers!

The manual of MDynamicEq is talking about attack and release settings but I can't find them. Were they taken out of the final version? I remember seeing them in some beta version.

They are not on the main screen (to make it more simple), but just click on a band with your right-mouse button ;).

I tried that but I don't see them. Am I going blind?
EDIT: Oh, never mind. I was right-clicking on the bands section, showing the level transformation curve.

Hehe, there you can use the left mouse button ;).

I've been playing with both of these all day, and I am impressed. This would be especially useful for problem tracks with resonances, such as a vocal or dialog recorded in an untreated room.

But I noticed a peculiarity, and surely it must be my imagination, but the two plugins seem to sound different from one another. Even when I exported my settings from MAutoDynamicEQ and then imported them into MDynamicEQ, A/Bing the two plugins revealed that they did not sound the same. MAutoDynamicEQ sounds better. How can that be? I imagine they share a common code base.

I believe I will be purchasing MAutoDynamicEQ. Will it replace Pro-Q as my go-to EQ? Probably not. And it may not be a tool you'd use every day. But it's just way too cool to pass up at this price.

So Vojtech, was my assumption right that even though you have 5/7 bands (depending on the version), you additionally ALSO HAVE static LP/HP as well?

If so, then you don't count the LP/HP as additional bands and I think I have a personal winner. I really don't need "auto EQing" (even thought he concept is definitely tempting, like all your other auto stuff), but like I said - your attempt is the most future proof with the most features for the time being.

And yes, I also think 5 "dynamic bands" are more than enough. I'd prefer more bands if this EQ would be used on a broadband material (mastering), but then I'd love to have both static and dynamic.

I'm really curious what Dan Worral (IIRs) has to say.

Can MAutoDynamicEq be used without the automatic EQ, that is, in the same way as MDynamicEq? If so, how?
