Congrats to you all. I am excited just seeing you all so excited. :wheee:

S1/2 certainly looks like a complete package and I hope it works out great for you. It seems like a major step ahead in features so I can appreciate the energy around this release. It's like when PT went from V7 to V8 - I don't think I slept much that first week

Good luck and I will be eager to hear some new music with - I hope- in-tune vocals :)

Sadly I must say that after briefly watching the screencast and vids S1v2 is the game changer. The hype before the release was as usual crazy and I thought it will be another set of nicely worded gimmicks. But no... Guys from PS did what they promised.
I also feel sort of relieved that there are still devs around who actually try hard to bring something new to the table.
DNA was one of such things with no doubt. But ARA is something, which sets a new bar and Celemony shall squeeze serious $$$ out of it.
I'm really scared to think what "other daws and plugins are on their way" means :).
Bravo! I'm truly impressed. It will be really interesting how other major devs will respond to it.
Well done!

So if it's a game changer why are you sad? Bad choice of word...shouldn't you be glad?

I think this actually IS a game changer, yes.

Studio 12 now becomes a serious contender in the crowded DAW market, and poses a genuine challenge to the more established alternatives. Not bad for a product that has only been on the market for less than a couple of years...

As an outsider, these seem to be some impressive unique selling points:

+ genuine integrated mastering/CD burning solution
+ Melodynne integration
+ SoundCloud integration

Add in VST3 support, 64bit, and what appears to be a very accessible Tracktion-esque workflow... this is looking very good indeed.

I wonder how many people will switch to Studio 12... it does I think pose a serious challenge as a fresh and dynamic alternative, rather like Ableton have been doing in their own (different) way for a while now.

Congrats... and good luck... to Presonus. A very impressive release :D

AFAIK, no. And yes, I know it's annoying, and it should be possible. I guess it got lost amongst the other cool stuff.

But you can bounce an instrument track easily enough, there are a couple of options for that. Personally, I'd rather do it offline anyway. YMMV.

Also on the live webcast before Presonus were going on about the Soundcloud thing saying about if your out and about jamming on your Electribe or whatever and you dump the sounds/riffs into your soundcloud account then you can drag the files directly into Studio One when you get home :-) Nice!

It's been less commented on, but for me anyway, the SoundCloud integration is a HUGE draw.

Here's a Trick Question:

Is V2 close to Cubaseish? Is Cubase still deeper? How much? Howcome? Why?
Eh?

Damn, I was told by Jonathon something along these lines would be coming. Free routing should have been a no brainer.

Well please excuse me while I go eat my boxer shorts.

I had a bet that this thread would go to "KVR-Disneyland" after release and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised (and was dead wrong). :hihi:

So as to boxer shorts... taste better with Ketchup or Hot Sauce?

I think - given what they've just pushed out and checked off the list - it's probably easily the #1 feature request now and I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the relatively early 2.x cycle.

They're really just getting started with the 2.x cycle so there is (per Jon) more stuff to come in what is in his words... "... a brand new phase for us."

They were (apparently) kinda working with that "fall" deadline for release so I can imagine there is probably some cool stuff on the table 70-80% done that didn't quite make it in 2.0.1.

Cu-what? Ah, I see! You mean that 20th century DAW !?

P.S I look fwd to upgrading to S12 PRO. And I guess my C6 licence will collect some virtual dust

P.S. I watched the Webinar and when they switched over to Hamburg to all of the developers live my very first thought was...

"Wow... Steinberg would never do that." :hihi:
