it's the bottom of two pin to the left of the metronome (yes, I was stumped as well)
Ah thanks! This worked.. But I know have another trouble.

When loop mode is on, overdubbing an existing midi part more than one loop cycle deletes the old midi data after you click stop. But old data is not deleted if you click stop before one loop cycle completed. This is confusing.
It's a bug :x I couldn't really understand what the dude/dev guy was getting at but it's been confirmed many times over and is being looked at.

BUT

I still think you should fill out a report or find my tech support thread (at presonus forums) and voice :)

My thoughts EXACTLY :evil:

Hopefully, this will be resolved soon (that will take a bit of the sting out if so)

There seems to be another bug as well as reported on the Presonus forums (I haven't had chance to check it out, yet)

If you create an instrument track and automate a few plugin parameters, then use the transform to audio feature to save CPU resources, then switch back to an instrument track - perhaps to do some more editing, all the original automation will be lost.

Lovely. It get's better and better :lol:

Still, I have no doubt these will be addressed in the near future.........but.......

Ah, it's not so bad. What point zero release is ever free of bugs? To be honest, it's a huge leap from version one, there's bound to be teething troubles.

However, I'm not sure how something like the automation bug I mentioned could be missed in the development and testing phases unless it was intentionally done that way. If so, I hope public pressure will make them change their minds.

Public Beta next time would be nice. 8)

I know, I know.........but still.

can't do midi overdub loop
automation error fail
K5 freako cpu issue (and predator too to some degree) and

I'm frustrated :shrug:

this is a thoughtful release. Clearly there was some time put into it but these are BIG deals to my little pea-brain. To comprehend.......tough it is.

The problem with Public beta is threads like this aka 27 pages or so :hihi:
The stuff you guys are talking about "record/metronome" etc are known but work for me "precount" etc

All you have to so is quickly double click the red record button on the transport bar for you precount, record doesn't appear to activate at first but it does once your precount kicks in..

I managed to get the demo version.
First impression:
- The interface is gorgeous!!! I love it! The colors are more desaturated and more gray which is on my taste. The faders, meters are awesome. The interface is clean and simple as it should be in my oppinion;
- Right click menu is nicely reorganized, easy to change transpose/velocity;
- Midi editor, I like that the velocity is shown on the midi note and the colors are easy on the eye;

hibidy can you provide the link @ presonus forum you mentioned somweher above?

Yep, already gave/giving v2 demo a run here and other than the Melodyne stuff (which I understand will not be exclusive to S1 anyway), I just don't see any compelling features/reasons to convince me to give 300 chips for a crossgrade as compared to the $40 I paid for Reaper, which is already a very capable host, if not more so than S1...just maybe not as "pretty" on install, but overall...does basically the same damn thing and with a huge support forum to boot.

The first thing to hit me was navigating around S1.2 is slow/laggy, like a slight delay when clicking between the tracks with instruments loaded up on each, pulling up the GUI of the VSTs was also slow, so that got on my nerves quickly....then from there, I realized that I just am not digging the interface as much as I thought I would and the stuff you need to do in order to get things done.

And oh...one BIG TIME feature that just irks me = no dragging clips to the right to "duplicate" them. Seriously? This should have been in v1!! So you've got to press D or Shift-D to duplicate/share duplicate them? What year are we in? Come on people...Acid started that like 10-15 years ago and even Reaper does that, so out of all the 400 or 500 features you said you added in v2...THAT wasn't part of the v2 plan and it's right there in front of you - staring at you? As someone else said that I thought was hilarious - you're going to make me break the "D" key on my keyboard!! LOL

For or a v1 release, though, this is not a good way to start especially after throwing a big hoo-ha online event 2 days ago and looking at their asking price they want me to pay to switch from Live/Reaper + that one badly missed feature (at minimal)....I don't think so folks. $300 bucks is not a big deal here, but it is for alot of people in this day of home hobby recording, so in an already saturated market of hosts, it's definitely an uphill battle....and wait until Logic 10 gets released for the Mac folks...then another party will start and then they'll leave this booth and head over to the Apple Booth for sure.

Anyway...I don't know how fast Presonus has been updating S1, but those devs looked pretty worn out in that live stream.

@Hibidy

Props to you man. :hail:

You've behaved like a mature adult in the face of a pretty ugly bug, the overdub thing. It think this may demonstrate how fleet of foot the devs are (or not, we'll see) with fixes and one reason why install paradigms like S1 and Reaper (install right over the last one) are so handy as opposed to patching things.

Much respect dude.
