Bummer!! Just chased up my order with Thomann. Appears my account has been blocked (didn't know I had an account!) due to an outstanding payment from over a year ago!! So they pretty much ignored my order & I missed out on the first stock of IK iRig MIDI interfaces. By the Christ!! Trying to get hold of one of these things is like trying to get shit out of a rocking horse! I'm close to giving up & just getting a Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer 2 instead.

Done some quick tests using 'Genome MIDI' & 'Little MIDI Machine to control my MIDI synths. Worked perfectly with my TETR4 & MS2000. For some reason it's not working with my Neptune 2. But I think that's more to do with the iffy MIDI>CV converter in the Neptune than the iRig. Had issues with that before. Real shame though as controlling the Neptune 2 was one of my main requirements. I'll keep playing with that.

Also tried taking the output of the AKAI MPK49 & routing this to the iRig input. Was able to control 'Addictive Synth' no problem. Got the iPad on charge now so didn't try anything else. But I'm sure this should work fine with any iPad App that supports Core MIDI. No reason why it shouldn't I guess.

I'll post up some vids ASAP. Will see if I can get the Neptune 2 responding to this as well. Works fine being controlled from the AKAI MPK49. Bit puzzled why it's not working from the iPad/iRig. As I said could be the MIDI>CV converter in the damn thing.

Should also mention that the MIDI cables that come with the iRig MIDI are nice & long. But the USB to mini USB power lead is ridiculously short! A real problem if you don't have a power outlet extremely close to your iPad. Would like to know where I can buy those MIDI > jack cables from as well.

I'd like to get a couple of snazzy cables to use with the iRig MIDI. Am I just looking for any 5-pin DIN to stereo mini jack cables such as these;

EDIT: Actually I don't think either of those will work. Right connectors but they are both described as 'directional' being wired up differently depending on if they are to be used for IN or OUT signal flow. Back to drawing board

I'll do that soon as there doesn't seem to be many iRig MIDI vids on YouTube. Still trying to get this working with my Neptune 2. As I said I think it might be the MIDI to CV converter in there as it's not the best. Really want to be able to control this from the iPad so I'm thinking about a separate MIDI to CV converter and using the Neptune 2's CV/gate inputs

..... sorted out the Neptune 2 thing, in a very stranged way that doesn't make much sense to me!!

I took the output from the iRig, routed this to the MS2000 input & then routed the MS2000 'Thru' to the input of the Neptune 2. It worked!! Strange that it worked that way & not directly from the iRig to the Neptune 2 input. Oh well, good that it works. Vids coming soon

I ordered one from the IK shop based on comments that it was shipping, but received an email from IK that they will not be available until mid November..

Bit more expensive than the shops. But this guy has them and most of the shops seem to be waiting for them still!
