I dont sell guitars, they are part of the family...however if I had a les paul it would be an embarrassment to the family and disownedtapper mike wrote:Whenever I sell a guitar remorse sets in. Even though a great number of my guitars sit and collect dust.

I loved the way my Les Pauls sounded and played. I hated the wieght. It got to be that I'd take mine to gigs, play the first set with the paul and the rest with the strat. Both left me in heartbreaks one stolen the other broken by my cousin.

It's interesting. Though completely a different guitar, my ibby's require quite a bit of extra "love" to get them right. As an example, I have to put chapstick on the knife edges of my trems (even the newest one!)
My point being that these type of mods are commonly being used by all walks of guitarists.
Odd though, he recommended it and didn't have a source?

He told me a few people who'd bought Skylark guitars that had these Bigsby style trems had changed the springs, so yeah, a source would have been nice. If push comes to shove I can always replace the trem entirely as I'll have the money because I won't won't be upgrading the stock pups. It seems to be a Bigsby B7 copy, easy enough to get but a tad pricey with gold finish, tho' a B70 is much cheaper but I'm unsure about any differences between the two types.

My Orville Les Paul has the sound and feel of a great Les Paul without the weight (or at least not as much of it). I assume it's all mahogany and that's what makes it so light. The Seymour Duncan Custom 5 pickup is really what made that guitar come alive, it sounds like ZZ Top now.tapper mike wrote:I loved the way my Les Pauls sounded and played. I hated the wieght.

And it's getting more and more impressive the more I play ithibidy wrote:Well, it really is a lovely guitar!
Granted the trem is still not 100% reliable and it hasn't got the slimmest of necks nor the lowest action out of all my guitars, but the neck is amazingly fast for a reason I can't put my finger on. I actually caught myself shredding last night, well in as far as my very, very shoddy/loose technique will let me anyway.
It's probably the stock pups I'm most pleased with, normally by now with a new guitar I've either bought replacements or they're imminent, but there's no reason whatsoever to change these
