That looks interesting, but what is it exactly? Their site is of the type that doesn't explain the basics and I can't find a Wiki entry for it either.z.prime wrote:Tracked in REAPER, mostly in elementary OS.

It is a Linux distribution, based on Ubuntu with a philosophy of making things simple to use and elegant. The current version (which I'm typing from) as a MacOS-like dock instead of the typical Linux taskbar, clean window decorations and UI widgets; to date, I haven't found a Linux distribution that I prefer.V'ger wrote:elementary OS ... what is it exactly?

I have enjoyed listening to the entries so far. Its interesting to hear what everyone can make this little synth do
Seeing as its comming up to halloween, I though I would make another track on this theme:
Thrax - Halloween Storm
24 x Charlatan
1 x Stardust
3 x BootEQmkII
2 x Classic Compressor
2 x NyquistEq5
2 x Classic Reverb
1 x Classic Delay
Enjoy

I'm using Ubuntu on our main home box, if I played with elementary, would everything port over ok?z.prime wrote:It is a Linux distribution, based on Ubuntu with a philosophy of making things simple to use and elegant. Man, I had some wind noises in the track I'm working on, ans now everybody seems to have wind in their entries! so much for that, I'll have to come up with some other weird noise...

The current release is based on Ubuntu 10.10, if you're running a newer version, you might have problems. If you're running an older version, you could probably get all the same stuff.gorgorgathgorgorgor wrote:I'm using Ubuntu on our main home box, if I played with elementary, would everything port over ok?

Are plugins such as hypercyclic and tonespace allowed? (midi arpeggiators/chordal inputs)
I cannot play a midi keyboard to save my life... but still trying to start somewhere!
(As long as you guys don't mind my horrible submissions....)

I don't think there would be a problem - you could get any MIDI input to the synth by manually programming the notes in a MIDI editor; so any sort of (freewaree) MIDI manglers, I'd think are fine.59fifty wrote:Are plugins such as hypercyclic and tonespace allowed? (midi arpeggiators/chordal inputs)

Cheers for the submissions so far, and yes, midi plugins are fine. (btw, new version of Hypercyclic recently released)

Wait a bit more for it.
I'm trying to get some time to make a new re-arrangement for Charlatan track. But i'm overbooked this month.
Anyway, after i listened some of the submitted tracks, my entry just would suck balls, really
Have a good day
