I too fell for the ridiculous notion that I would be in need of a mobile option for AmpliTube. I also never need or use it

On the entire "mobile" trip...complete waste of my time when it comes to music creation. Oh well, lesson learned
Have you tried animoog? And using the iPad as a MIDI controller: Thumbjam, Soundprism Pro, MidiPads and more. It's all about the touch, for me. The kind of expressiveness you get with using your fingers, and tilting and shaking to control various parameters and all the other cool things you can do. That way, I think the iPad is the best piece of music gear I ever got.

Oh, and Reactable. What a waste of space and money.

How many of you were initially excited about the music making potential of mobile devices but found yourself moving back to a full-blown PC after the novelty wore off?

Post

I loooove making music entirely on iPad 2 and is never going to return to ba-da-da-dam-you-cant-touch-this PC synths again.

Those regrets I have are very few and my own fault. They are bought too impulsively while I usually read reviews and watch all tutorials from you tube before buying apps. I have used many of my apps so far, but There are still many I bought with no regrets that I yet have to use. I have only abandoned a few apps, se the list below.

Cheers

Couldn't, agree more.

Those to whom music making on iOS has not clicked, fine. Some folks hate computers and use hardware only, some use both, others (like me) use software only....ect..... so it is no surprise that mobile music making is not for everyone. But there is no reason to be insulting, using words like "toys", "useless"....... Different strokes for different folks.

I also regret buying Aurora. I enjoyed it at first, but find that in reality I don't use it. It is very cool, but just not for me...

To the skilled, every toy is a tool.

To the unskilled, every tool is a toy.

And then Meffy's addition:
To the tool, every forum is a dumping ground for spam.
..or trolling...or being stupid at no cost...we might add!

Thanks. I have actually invented it just for KVR. Some folks at KVR are just so inspiring.

It's cool to people who aren't too stupid to figure out how it works. Same goes for most of the apps people seem to be complaining about. I fail to see how something like BeatMaker would just be a "toy".

Touchosc. Should have listened to the reviews that said 'only great for mac users'. The reviews on the app store all go like this;

Great! I'm using it with with Live no probs on OSX Lion
...
Can't get it to work with windows
...
Easy set up on Snow leopard, Logic like a dream
.....
How do you get it to work with Windows?
....
All these people who don't know how to set it up are stupid. Easy for me on Mac. Negative reviewers are idiots.
...
anyone know how to get it to control things on WIn7?
....

And so on. I spied a pattern, but though I'd be the one who could set it up as a vstcontroller in windows. I am a fool

danbroad, try this to get TouchOSC midi working on Windows:

After falling in love with the excellent SampleWiz I went back and bought Morphwiz. It uses a different audio engine and the latency is not so great. Hope they improve that in an update, then I will regret it less.

Tabletop I regret buying because it's sorta boring. Everything is 4/4 and you can't have odd length patterns.

I wil stop regretting FL Mobile if and when they add swing to the step sequencer.

Or maybe it's cool to idiots only?!

The obvious trolling is expected, but this is just uncalled for.
