I am also having a hard time finding this. Also, where do you find those MIDI to 1/8 inch cables? Do the cables seem sturdy enough? It is likely the iRig MIDI will get a fair amount of use setting up and tearing down three days a week. I don't want things konking out in my first month of use.

Kind of wish I'd waited now since I paid £64 for mine from a seller on fee-bay & DV are selling them for £46!! But that's the way it goes

Anyone found anywhere to buy cables for use with the iRig MIDI? I contacted IK who said they would be selling these cables at some point. But I'd like some shorter cables with a bit more bling
Might make some of my own if I can get the connectors.

Yeah I agree I'm baffled too ... its so obvious! The Alesis IO Dock is the nearest product. I was holding out for such a device but couldn't wait much longer so decided to get the Irig Midi for the interim.polaris20 wrote:Basically what is needed is something like the Presonus AudioBox series, with a dock connector instead of a USB cable. Combo XLR+1/4" jacks and MIDI. Docks are stupid for reasons you've already stated, as well as the iPad's form factor changing over time. Devices using the headphone jack are stupid because of inherent audio quality issues, when compared to a proper dock-connecting interface.
I am baffled why no company has made this happen.

Hi ObiK. I got my Irig Midi yesterday and my main aim was to sync Beatmaker 2 with Ableton. I can seem to get a simple midi in clock sync but couldn't seem to get Beatmaker 2 to send midi out info. Do I need to run Irig Midi recorder in the background? Thoughts welcome. Cheers.ObiK wrote:Yup no worries. Any app that supports Core Midi will work with

MIDI recorder won't make any difference to MIDI I/O. Can you see the the iRig MIDI in Beatmaker 2 (will probably be in the settings somewhere). In Apps I use that support Core MIDI the iRig shows up as a device.The_Bro wrote:Hi ObiK. I got my Irig Midi yesterday and my main aim was to sync Beatmaker 2 with Ableton. I got my Roland GI-20 yesterday, so I'm looking forward to getting an iRig MIDI and using it with GarageBand for iOS. I've got Sampletank too, and it indeed sounds awesome. My only problem with it is the lack of sequencing.
