Possibly, but I wouldn't even know where to find a .kbm file.

When someone is using different synths in a project with microtuning - they just load same .tun file into their Camel Audio, U-he, Lin Plug, Rob Papen, Wusik, VirSyn or whaterver synths they have - what's the point of doing it different and complicated in Harmor?

I don't know, what's the point of .scl files?
I know nothing about microtuning, we picked .scl because it seemed popular.
It seems to be supported by a lot of apps as well:

and complicated in Harmor?
complicated? You just drag&drop the file onto Harmor. I can't imagine simpler.

As Sidulacra explained, for many kbd mapping is crucial. Single .scl file won't do what single .tun file can.

I know i am going offtopic bu can someone please put some light on my stupid brain..

What's the point of these tune or scale files anyway? I hardly heard for them. Is it that you are in tune with something or what? Can't you do this already in your sequencer or via your hands when playing? What?

In a nutshell: Microtonal_music
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Well they are not just for using microtonal scales but also any alternative scale

I know. Alternative scales are of greater interest to me as well, but I was going for a (quick) "easy" introduction.

I visited your link and read article about it. I can't find any significant musician or piece of work which marked our history, define genre or commercial success by using something as Microtonal music. Well something as "Spiritus intelligentiae, sanctus (Griffiths, Lindley, and Zannos 2001)" definitely does not sounding worth when compared to the rest of traditional music world. It is sounding as "splitting hair" thingie to me (or excuse for some personal problem )so i'll just pass it. My opinion of course.

Thanks anyway.

For the sake of simplicity, anything other than The Equal Tempered Scale is usually called "microtonal" music.

Probably the majority of music uses alternative scales to the "standard" western equal tempered scale. Being able to make an instrument use alternative tunings opens it up to a vastly larger range of creative possibilities (just think how many decent guitarists stick to the standard tunings).

Oh and I just read that article - don't know what you define as significant music but it lists a lot of very significant music from classical composers of the stature of Debussy, Ives and Stockhausen to the blues and jazz.
