Is there a way to use the Novation Launchpad with Studio One? It works in all my other hosts. I just like to use it for a keyboard here and there.

Are you talking about sending MIDI to an external device? Or just to MIDI tracks in your session?

No, not sending MIDI to an external device, just to MIDI instrument tracks in a session. I am experimenting with midi plugs that massage played in midi input in various ways, leaving the original input and any altered version(s) on separate tracks.

Thanks guys. You have answered several of my questions on here.

I am using S12 64bit on windows 7. Only use 64bit plugins, etc. 100% 64bit.

However, I love using Renoise. I think the version I use is 2.7.2. It is a 32bit only app only at this point for windows I guess.

Can I still connect Renoise to S12 as a rewire slave?

I tried Studio One again recently, now that V2 is out. Aas hoping for something Logic-esque that allowed VSTs rather than AU's only. The way it deals with effects in the mixer is way too annoying. It unfolds right for both inserts and sends? That ends up looking pretty messy. But maybe I'm not aware of a mixer view where the effects stay in line with the channel strip, above the faders?

There other little things about it that I don't like. For example, you have to drag VSTs to load them. Double-clicking does does nothing. Strange to force dragging, it's not rally the quickest thing. Are there settings I'm unaware of? Just little things like this rub me wrong, coming from Logic/Live.

As to double clicking on a VST FX in the browser to add it to the channel, how would the app know if you wanted it as an insert or a send FX?

If you're talking instrument VST's ... much the same, you can load from a list...

Hope the above helps...

P.S. The horizontal mixer panel can at times potentially get messy if too many are open. Alt + Click on the <--- arrow closes all of them across the entire mixer at the same time.

You should be able to rewire any rewire-capable app to S1.

Hey thanks for the tips! The horizonatl view is better for sure. Too bad mouse scrolling only works when you're hovering over the bars (when you have too many inserts to view at once).

As for loading VST instruments, I see that you can load it into the instrument box, but then you have to drag it over to the track you want it assigned to, no? It just seems clunkier than in for example Logic or Live, where you have a track selected and simply or double-click to load the instrument to that track. I didn't see any direct load to a track. Also, once an instrument is loaded, how do you replace it? I only see remove in the right-click context. It seems like everything is multiple steps to do simple instrument loading/replacing. Am I missing something here too?
