I hear ya.

Good news on the future reverb. And omg i'm looking forward to that compressor! Care to share some features? Does it have internal SC? 4L inside?

Ok i'll stop asking questions .. Your fault. :hihi:

One feature : i wish the send/aux settings would not be saved in the preset, so that, when you work with an instance of the plugin, you don't have to re-set that setting each time you change the preset (i don't know if my sentence makes sense ?).

Yeah it makes sense, except unfortunately it is necessary to save the mode into the preset, because otherwise your projects wouldn't load correctly.

So instead I'm going to make it so that switching programs won't touch that particular switch (so in some sense it becomes "global" to the whole bank). I just need to hack the feature into my framework and then check that it works as intended. Shouldn't take more than a day or two.

But yeah, it's something that was already going to do, just didn't rush it into the last build because (1) I kinda forgot (2) I want to test it in a few hosts first.

Post

Ok, so you were lucky: uploaded 1.0.3 which treats the "mode" parameter as global (ie switching presets has no effect on it)

Also uploaded Tila2 2.0.2 with the same feature (even if it currently has no factory bank). It needed a framework update anyway I think.

edit: unfortunately it's not possible to reliably (some sort of timing heuristic would be pretty much the only option and I don't like that idea) figure out if user is loading .fxp/.fxb manually or if host is restoring project state, so loading banks/presets from files will still change the mode parameter too (this is how MIDI mappings work as well, though yesterday I made it so it won't store MIDI mapping anymore if the current mapping is "none").

good choice :) any chance of that 25s RT60 migrating to tila?? :D

Hi, Mystran.
I just noticed that Abstract Chamber's presets were not visible in the Ext2 browser (you can browse them blindly, however).
Thanks again for your plugnis, they are good :)

Curiously enough this seems to be the case with any of my recent plugins. The code that returns the names doesn't seem to get called (other stuff like actually renaming a preset does work, even if you can't really see it). The funny thing is, some older code of mine (that doesn't use the current framework) does work fine, even if there shouldn't really be any meaningful differences.

Thanks for reporting this.

Post

Ok, found it.

Seems I've only implemented method called "getProgramName" (which returns the name of the current preset), but VST has another called "getProgramNameIndexed" (which does the same but takes the preset index as parameter, rather than using the current one). I'm surprised nobody has reported this problem before, but I guess other hosts just use getProgramName instead when the indexed variant fails or something.

Anyway, was trivial to fix, I'll try to upload a fixed version before I go to sleep (only 1:11am here but I woke up early).

Post

Urgh, finally uploaded the fixed version (1.0.4). Had some trouble with the new version and it took a while to figure out what was going on.

Anyway, now the preset names should display fine in energyXT.

thank you :) i've bookmarked this to use in the next month or so - good news for me :D

Every few months I put this in my plugin folder because I love the way it sounds but I always end up taking it out for lack of a wet/dry control which is really needed on a reverb or any fx plugin. Most frustrating plugin I have come across.
