Having read the post on your website regarding possible payware spinoffs of TX16WX, I'd have to say I would be totally prepared to pay for these plugins provided that they were of the same quality and, ideally, offered something new.
I do think, however, that there are an awful lot of people looking for a fully featured free/cheap sampler to replace the excellent but long-dead Shortcircuit - myself included - and that this might offer your best opportunity for revenue.
Perhaps you could offer TX16WX as freeware (I respect your decision to keep it free) along with payware in the form of the beatslicer, beatbox and an XL sampler that offers even more sample mangling and modulation madness?

That is in fact exactly what I was thinking. I have some ideas on a "playable" beatslicer, amongst others. I don't want to stuff things like that into TX16Wx, if for no other reason that it simply won't fit into the UI, but as a separate instrument, not having to deal with multitimbral operation etc, it might make for a really nice groove/live tool.dexterbella wrote: I do think, however, that there are an awful lot of people looking for a fully featured free/cheap sampler to replace the excellent but long-dead Shortcircuit - myself included - and that this might offer your best opportunity for revenue.

See first page (or better, blog) for change list. I've tried to address as many as possible of your bug reports and feature requests. Let me know what new horrible bugs I've created.
Cheers.
Cheers.

I wanted you to know that I looked into this, but it is quite difficult to make Windows menus to expand like that at all, and tweaking the VSTGUI wrapper around popups makes it worse.Crackbaby wrote: I have a little mouse-hand-hurt-dilemma.
Load a bank with more than 38 programs. Go to Performance tab. Click on a program to select a new one. A big menu pops up. In order to select program 39 you have to move your cursor down to More and then move mouse up to 39 (depending on how many programs you have in total).
It would be so much better if this menu was expanded as soon as you open it. If you're (un)lucky to have a hand with that precious painproblem, all these extra movements hurt. And the risk of accidently closing the menu by moving the mouse out of range keeps me awake at night. Almost..![]()
In truth, selectors like that should behave more like dropdown lists instead, so maybe I should rework it as such. In any case, I'm not really happy about that part of the UI. We'll see how it ends up.
Anyway, at least for programs and performances you can try using the numeric selector (arrows or click-drag the numbers) to the left of the item name. Might be more mouse-hand friendly.
For 2.0 I want the UI to be fully resizable. But that will pretty much require me to move to either wxWidgets or Qt. I.e big big thing.Ps. I wouldn't mind a doublesized version
Cheers

New release out, fixes some silly bugs, and adds Loop Direction modulation, LFO trigger and switchable color/font for main interface.
Hope you like it, and please keep the feedback and bug reports coming.

Not sure how that would work? Sample triggers when LFO hits level "1"?Alfa210 wrote:What do you think about implementing re-triggering samples with lfo or eg for example.
Seems to me that a midi plugin does that better, no?
But explain the idea, it might be a breeze to implement.

many thanks for sample loop and playing direction modulation on a per-sample basis. it's a tweak-freak heaven!
thanks again

Some suggestion for loop start / loop end modulations.
I'd substitute seconds with samples for the modulation range.
I'd substitute loop end with loop length. so we even can reach the minimum length without the risk that the end point goes over the start one.
thanks
great work elcallio!

Actually, I would have to disagree. Since modulation is applied per group, which in turn might mean several distinct samples, time is a more universal unit of modulation.lalo wrote:Some suggestion for loop start / loop end modulations.

As far as length vs end goes, it does not actually make any difference since modulation is additive, not multiplicative (even in mult mode you could get negative length). Loop start and end are instead clamped to ensure they never reach illegal values. I.e Loop Start can never go outside [wave start, unmodulated loop end], and loop end is bound by [modulated loop start, wave end].
Tip: You can quickly visualize the result of modulation by switching to the played wave in the sample editor and watch the play marker traverse the wave.
Cheers
