Cheers for the votes, but unfortunately can't be counted because as it says in the rules:
Voters must have had 20 prior forum posts or participated in that month's contest
Well, I am new here and I thought you might not notice. Seriously, I have only just started using the KVR Forum and last night was the first time I wandered into the One Synth Challenge. I was impressed enough with the music to want to give the players some kudos.

I have downloaded Sonigen Modular, and I am planning on submitting an entry for this month.

Good luck to everyone on this competition.

well, i think you just have to do 16 more posts till 15th of this month... your votes will then be ok, i guess! -> ...and I will get my 5 pts from you... haha ;) Thanks anyway for that! Happy to see, that people like my music!

I joined OSC the first time this month... so it's new for me, too!!

BTW: can anybody tell me how things work with the prizes? I didn't find an explenation on how it works!? Would be interesting...

I will keep posting. I thought about just reposting my vote 20 times, but I think that violates the spirit of the rule, and would probably get me banned.

Are you working on the Nov competition? I have already created a few interesting patches on the Sonigren. It is fun to figure out how to really stretch the software.

Good luck on the contest. I really enjoyed your music.

Haha... nice idea... but that won't be the right way!

I want to send a track in for november, but right now I've got no inspiration...
...maybe your presets will ispire me? If you think, you've got some usable patches, just upload them anywhere and send me the link!

Have fun and thanks again!

Hi JJBiener, so then I will give you some opportunity to raise the count.

What do you think of our track 'Global Pitch'?

@All: Come on boys, girls, zombies and robots, give JJ a reason to post.
Talk to him/her!

I'm not sure, but are the "20 forum posts" restricted to OSC threads? Because I'm sure you would find lots of interesting threads on KVR ;)
(But again: I'm not sure, so if the 20 are restricted to OSC posts, correct me asap ;-) )

Yes 20 posts total. You can see a persons post number by hovering the mouse pointer over the name, or by going to the profile.

Yes that wouldn't look good would it..

The whole point of this rule is to stop cheating by having mates come and boost scores, and although it seems unlikely anybody would be so unsporting, it has actually happened which is why the rule had to be put in place.

Of course it can be done by using double accounts, having the mate(s) get up to 20 posts in advance or even join the competition (not needing the 20 posts), but I think a lot would be sussed out and very few would risk their name for >€150. Also I think suspicious scores would be countered by the other voters giving less.

The most tell-tale one is obviously the last minute vote that tips the balance when scores are tight..

Not a lot of time to comment this time, but here are my votes

5 - z.prime - into the line

4 - bzur - DnBnC

3 - RuediRena - Global Pitch

2 - Bjulin - Peace

1 - IrionDaRonin - Surrounded by Light

I have to admit that I did not take the time I usually do for voting. I've been very busy, and what free time I do have has been put towards gaining an understanding of Sonigen! So this time I played Evil Record Company Executive and gave things the 15 second test (with special consideration for extended intros). I don't mean to make excuses, I'm just trying to be honest about the situation. Good luck everybody!

Hi,

5 points: RuediRena - Global Pitch
Fun and epic track, abit crazy in good way :D. Body feels light after listening, so it works better than coffee atleast :D. I think I have to download this and put to playlist. Maybe even put this as ring tone to my phone :D.

4 points: Irion Da Ronin - Surrounded by Light
Do you have more music anywhere on net other than soundcloud? Just amazing sounding music.

3 points: z.prime - into the line
It's easier to say what I don't like about this track so I'll do that: I don't like the cat type of sounds at end of the track.

If I saw advertisement that z.prime plays at club and I go to soundcloud to check music and this is what I hear, I would go if ticket isn't too expensive.

2 points: evo2slo - Aluminum Lemon
Really cool melodies, I like the bass, and those blips that start at around 1 min.

1 point: Bjulin - Peace
Can't explain why this must only get 1 point. Another track that I'll download.

Incredibly close and hard to vote, and my top 5 changed while writing this. I guess it could still change, but I gotta just click that submit button at some point.

You did right, brother, you did right. :hihi:

And another big thank you for 3 points from you, Gorgor.

RuediRena - Global Pitch: 5 points
Great mix. Sounds full and lush but not overly crowded. The slow parts are a nice contrast to the fiery chorus. The main melodies are fantastic and fit together so well. I especially love those staccato notes from the lead synth.

Thrax - Broken Silence: 4 points
Really like the Halloween Storm track as well, but this one has more repeat playability for me. Great percussion, nice bass line, sweet keys and pads. Cool change-up in the middle. Excellent track.

IrionDaRonin - Surrounded by Light: 3 points
Love the shifting instrumentation. The different sections blend beautifully with each other. This one really grew on me with each listen.

Doc Jon - Smoothie Charlie: 2 points
Fantastic sparkling intro, and those funky riffs and tight sounds keep me grooving to the end. Great spacious mix. Thought the hats could use some more variation.

z.prime - into the line: 1 point
Excellent percussion, especially those hats, and nice melody. Lots of great ear candy sound fx. A moment or two where I feel it loses some momentum, but a fantastic track regardless.

Runner-ups:
Bjporter - Final Report
Really great sound design. Feel like this track could be completely off the charts if the sounds of the undersea creatures were developed into a more musical theme at the end. Hats (or helmets) off for the awesome originality, and use of soundcloud comments for narration. Quite clever!

Bjulin - Peace
Wonderfully atmospheric and relaxed. Has an effortless quality that is certainly the result of much work. I found the kick drum a bit distracting - just personal taste. A very beautiful track that I've enjoyed listening to many times.

bzur - DnBnC
Really nice mix and bass riffage. Enjoyed the creative and unpredictable arrangement, but it didn't quite keep me involved all the way through.

Yeager - True Colors
Those repeating notes over the progression in the first section are wonderfully atmospheric. Had me mesmerized. Not crazy about some of the big thematic changes, didn't think they fit with the initial atmosphere that was created.

Alvfaria - Little Red Devil
Fantastic drum patterns and sounds, and the thematic melodies are riveting. Great driving track, but the ending happens too soon and the fade out seems like a rushed way to finish.

5 points : bzur - DnBnC
Should I feel bad giving bzur max points yet again? I don't think so - after numerous listens to all the tracks this remained the one which consistently impressed. Well structured, catchy melody with good variation and development throughout, some really excellent sounds and that particularly nasty bass! Well done!

4 points : Bjulin - Peace
What a great first time entry. Nice simple construction, really effective sparse mix and such chilled sounds. An instant favourite from the first listen. Looking forward to more from you in the coming months

3 points : RuediRena - Global Pitch
Well, what can I say! My favourite duo come good this month with a cracker of a track! I loved the whole epic feel of this with some great sounds and OTT production. Only slightly let down by the drums which I felt could have been stronger and would have pushed it even higher up the points score

2 points : IrionDaRonin - Surrounded by Light
Great Vangelis style sounds, usual Irion trademark quality. Good variation throughout, kept my interest all through the track. I loved the layering of the sounds, huge percussion, little burbling noises!

1 point : SJMmusic - The Boat
Such a strong opening and impressive build as the track progressed. Loved your choice of sounds. Created a great atmosphere which should have developed into a huge epic track instead of finishing at 1.34 - I hope we'll get to hear the rest of it some time!
