I own energyXT and Tracktion. I just realised, what a powerful combination they would be together! Midi handling in eXT is getting better and better in each version.
I feel sad that I'm finally gonna have to say goodbye to Muzys, but it's just not doing it for me. I kept using it assuming the enhancements were just around the corner.

EnergyXT really seems to be on a roll. And audio is on the way, too.Midi handling in eXT is getting better and better in each version.

Yes, Massiva was always a pretty decent alternative to Muzys, anyway. And, I really like the shifrin skin for EnergyXT -- much better than the Massiva UI, for me, at least. And the flexible routing of EnergyXT is most cool, too, of course!a good boat to get on, and it's good to know that jorgen implements feature requests![]()

Hi All,
The message released last October told true things.
It is lateron that some things in life happened, i cannot and will not go into detail.
(who can perfectly forecast the future?)
That's why, in respect to you Muzys users, i released the new message last week.
I hope that you appreciate the fact that i keep you up to date.
And as said before: The story is not over !
I return to quiet now.
Best whishes,
Jo

Nothing you have said inspires any confidence.
The few Muzys fans that there are appearing to be abandoning ship.
Is this what you want?

Cmon people, Maybe we should chill ot a bit. Jo has said the story is not over. Hes not going into details about his personal problem, which is fair enough. Who knows what could have happened, maybe under the circumstances any other dev may have given up all together. We dont know the situation hes in but he has stated that Muzys lives.

Here's my speculation:
Muzys has always been a shareware project, i.e there's never been a proper company behind the software, just a hobby project that grown. When ComputerMuzys was released more users went along and bought it, never realising that it was shareware. The site never made that very clear. What has now happened is that Muzys can't provide Jo with a proper salary...and as consequence he can't spend that much time with it. If Muzys was a profitable project Jo could hire some people to continue the development if he, out of personal resons, can't do it him self. If Muzys been a proper company it would probably gone bust. Now Muzys still have a future, although a non-reliable future.
end of speculation.
As the Muzys comunity is still active I would like Jo to consider to make Muzys Open Software, just like GIMP is for the graphic applications. Hopefully the community could attract some programmer with spare time. That way it would be developed continiously but in a controlled manner.
Audacity is doing a great job, but is far from replacing Muzys. Take look at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/
Obviously that would kill all future revenue for Jo... so it's major decision! But the way he handled it soo far it's maybe allready commercially dead.

Dammit, Jo! If you had not written such a masterpiece of music software...
Let me be very clear - I totally respect your wishes of privacy. I don't think there is one person in here who does not understand that.
However, that does not excuse your policy to not communicate at all for six months at a time. There is no reason to reveal any specifics about your life, or better yet, development of Muzys, just to "check in" from time to time. What do you expect when, after such a long absence, you suddenly announce you are "discussing Muzys' future with friends and relatives" when there are a bunch of salivating CMuzers waiting to pay you their hard earned money (and these days it is very hard earned)not to mention the group of dedicated mac Muzers expecting an OSX port. This is after all what you said was going on back in october. So, we waited like patient happy idiots. If you had just said something like, "the OSX port is delayed, but still in devlopment" then we'd all be back to a happy campground.
It doesn't take a genius to suspect ulterior things when we were all expecting an OSX port, and then we get these cryptic announcements. I mean, you're program is great, but AD80 is right, how long do you expect us to be content with this?
Dear, Jo. All of these bad vibrations could have been avoided so easily. You could have checked in from time to time, and kept all of your personal affairs (including potential business deals) private at the same time.
