Thanks 4lb Kitty and bill45! Glad you liked it!
bill45, I'm not sure exactly what you are referring to. Could you provide samples of the bell like overtones? I'm curious.

Dreambliss, load the les paul, set the vibrato mode to cc,hit key B-1 hard,
Then hit the low F, let it ring and see if you hear any weird overtones. try also with amp sims.
Anyone having trouble with electri6ity and kontakt 4.2.3.
If I use more than one instance of kontakt with electri6ity instruments, that I have changed and saved, cubase x64 pc stops working. The original factory instruments work fine, with more than 1 instance.

I don't know what the issue is, but is there a reason for using more than one instance of Kontakt?
How much RAM do you have?
-------
Is there a way of getting extra long sustains in Electri6ity? They seem to cut off kinda short.
EEG Strawberry would go as long as you wanted (until the strings naturally stopped vibrating).

I have 24GB. It's less messy one instance for rtm double tracked. one instance for lead.when you edit the lead, Just click the keys in cubase track list, lead instrument is right there. No scrolling to find the lead, or dealing with k4's goofy output structure.Multiple instances may be more efficient on cpu believe
it or not.this is definetly the case with East west play.

I'll have to play around with it and see if I can reproduce the bell-like overtone.
I ran into that crash issue last year on Kontakt 4.1 on Sonar. I quad-track my rhythm guitars so I ended up just making a multi for it instead. Any leads that I want to add, I usually end up adding them after the rhythm tracks are frozen. So far I haven't had a crash since. Although when I upgraded to Kontakt 4.2.3 earlier this year I ended up with all kinds of strange crash issues, so I downgraded back to 4.2.2 and I've been stable again. Not sure what it is but something with Electri6ity and multiple instances of Kontakt don't like each other.

After updating to kontakt 4.2.4,old projects play fine.
I then updated to cubase 5.5.3 old projects play well but,
I still can't load tsex30 in cubase x 64. I've been having good luck with
Studio devil amp modeler pro, even better than their vga II.
Off to test guitar rig 5.

Let me know how GR5 is. I have my eye on Komplete 8. Not willing to spend the cash on it yet though.

I have a question for Electri6ity users, specially who are into Metal music.
Is it possible to get a crunchy palm mute sound from Electri6ity? I am using the P90 Lespaul DI in combination with Amp Modeler Pro (patch #21). Tried playing with pickup positions, pick positions, tone and bunch of other settings but I don't seem to be getting anywhere.
I also have Shreddage X and RealLPC and I have created a little sample comparing all three.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17038921/Shredd ... ealLPC.mp3
In order of appearance:
1 Shreddage X
2 Electri6ity
3 RealLPC
4 Left: Electri6ity, Right: Shreddage X
5 Left: Electri6ity, Right: RealLPC
6 Left: RealLPC, Right: Shreddage X
The sound I want is something closer to that of Shreddage. In my opinion Shreddage and LPC go together well since RealLPC's palm mutes have more weight than Electri6ity.
It is my first day with Electri6ity I am kinda lost in all the possible customizations and options. I mainly create riffs that is why I always check for palm mute quality of a virtual instruments before doing anything else.
Any help would be welcome, thanks!

Yes it's possible but it took me quite a while to finally figure it out. What I typically do with my rhythm guitars is layer them. Two hard left/two hard right and all with different signal chains applied to them using Guitar Rig 4.
If you want to see how I got Electri6ity to sound, check out my Reverbnation site here:
http://www.reverbnation.com/dreambliss
Here are some of the settings that I tweaked that really helped:
Under the Tone settings:
"Tone | Strumming" = Vertical Strumming
"Tone | Picking" = Vertical Picking
"Tone | Muted" = Bright
Under the Playing settings:
"Playing | Muted Tightness | Chords" = 1
"Playing | Muted Tightness | Single Notes" = 1
Under the Picking settings:
"Picking | Velocity Muted Notes" = 66%
Under the Releases settings:
"Releases | Palm Mute | Type" = Hard & Percussive
Under the Preamp settings (if you choose to use the preamp):
There's a lot under here that I've tweaked so I'll explain what I did. Both the Tube and Saturation should be enabled. Tube - have the tone set low (or even 0% which is what I have it set to), some drive (25-35%) and bass (35-60%), a lot of brightness and about half mix. The output should be about 0 db. Saturation - set the shape about halfway with output set to around -6 db.
I use two Telecasters and two Les Paul P90's for the four guitars that I layer. The Tele's preamp settings are slightly different than the P90's. If you do use the preamp, I recommend playing around with it to get it to where you like it.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for a detailed and thorough answer. I will definitely try using all your settings to see if it works. Except for layering, I did play with most of them.
For now I am achieving somewhat similar sound by cutting frequencies between 200hz and 300hz and putting some compressor on it, but its making the chords and sustains sound too thin and shrill. The mutes in Electri6ity always end up sounding too short, they do in your songs as well (and all the demos I heard) so I guess this is something we will have to live with unless it is fixed.

The channel with squeals is Shreddage, the other one is Electri6ity P90, both going through Guitar Rig 5 (Puppetmaster preset with added Screamer).

Play the B-1 key soft, this is the half muted articulation.
Play the co key soft,This is muted- half muted articulation.
play these keyswitches with different velocities, to find the duration You're looking for. also, switch between poly and solo modes. And,lengthen the pre pick noise.

I have a question regarding pitch bend in the electri6ity VST, that might be hard to explain.
When I use my pitch bend wheel while playing on a MIDI keyboard, it only moves the electri6ity bend slider slightly (200 cents), even though I have the bend wheel on my keyboard all the way up. In other words; while I am playing, I cannot bend a note all the way up to the next. By using my keyboard pitch bend, I can only move the virtual pitch bend wheel in electri6ity by 1/4 of what is possible.
Now I have to record myself while using the mouse to drag the wheel itself up in the VST, because my keyboard pitch wheel doesn't bend far enough. Any suggestions?
I have a Roland A-500S btw.

Just showing some love for Electri6ty again... check out this tune with vocals:
A singer/lyricist joined my Dreambliss project and I just finished integrating his vocals on this tune tonight.
Also go to:

Check out "Haunting Presence". My latest tune, although no vox yet. Electri6ity is just rockin'!

Hi.
Newbie question, but how exactly do you make Electri6ity sound metal on FL9 ?
