Maybe I don't need to get the output from both channels I guess, so Just one cable.

An unbalanced cable I guess?
Yeah, don't mess with summing two outputs at the input of your amp. If you have a stereo signal coming from your DAW that you want to monitor through your mono amp, sum to mono within the DAW. I know you use Live, in which case it's easy to select a single output even for a stereo channel.

I think the only reason I thought that was because of anything I was monitoring that was a stereo signal, but to be honest the times I'm doing that sort of thing it's not big deal just to put headphones on or listen to it on near field monitors.

For rip the shit out of it screaming feedback I think mono will work. :hihi:

From Russia with love. Figured it was time to get some real tube distortion (as opposed to the software kind) happening, but didn't feel like getting into a full amp and micing up a cab at this point.

Their history is russia......they are usa now it looks

Just recently I managed to pick up a Akai M8 preamp/amplifier, The tubes are EF86, 12AD7, 6BQS, 6X4 and 6ARS. Some people modify them for microphone preamp and others for guitar amp. It makes a nice stereo amp, especially on high bias. Only 6 watts lowd. Anyway there a lot of tube amps around now.

Apparently they are still made in Russia - I had to wait an extra week for the US distributor to get another shipment from there.

I opted for the 11B (the B is supposedly the "modern" voiced one whereas the A is more "vintage" voiced). Basically a dual-tube preamp in a pedal. It has a switch for a cab-emulated out, but I'm finding I prefer to use the non-emulated out and run into cab impulses. I have to say the distortion sounds more pleasing and natural to me than what I've thus far gotten out of amp sim software, and it sure has cut down my CPU load.

Well its one of 'those' tools that whilst not looking that much can make a huge difference (even if using amp models/sims it works champion). Glad its working out for you and how is the Jet City settled in John? Hope its working out well and looking forwards to hearing about it dude.

Whats robojam up to? I have not been able to use the net much as home life has been hectic so i am behind guys but thats all good as it means i have some stuffs to read up/catch up :D

Hope all are well and best to you lot as always and things are more "normal" if that really applies to this place/my setup, So should be about more :tu:
