"Midi import failed" and "File error - load failed"

Working with REAPER 4.10, Windows 7. Just switched to a new PC.
I've got two problems with file search paths for my KVR plugins:
1) Every time I open up REAPER, I get an error message that says "Midi import failed". In the dialog box it says: "C:\Program Files(x86)\Steinberg\VstPlugins\RMIV_Grooves\...\m i4." It pops up about 6-7 times every time I open a new project. The thing is, there are no RMIV_Grooves files among my plugins. I've had this probelm for over a year and, while it is nothing more than a nuisance, I'm ready to see it go away.
2) This next problem is more urgent, and it started after I transferred my project files to my new computer: I'm getting a "File Error - Load failed" message, and REAPER is not finding the plug-in presets, even though the search path is set up correctly. REAPER seems to be stuck in the old search path which was "C:\Program\Steinberg\VST Plugins\...etc" instead of "C:\Program Files(x86)\Steinberg\VST Plugins\...etc".
Both of these problems seem to be specific to KVR Audio software (I'm using Rob Papen Linplug Albino3 and Linplug RMIV Drum addiction. Other plugs seem to be working without problems.
Any clues on these two phenomenoms?

It could be a privileges issue, try running Reaper as admin. By the way, Kvr Audio is only a forum with a large database of plugins and DAWs, it doesn't release software.
It does hosts official developers' forums like the one from Linplug, the company that made your Albino and RMIV:

You will find better support there.

I was JUST about to contact YOU to do something about several "standalone" apps I'm having trouble with, but I'll search the forum for fixes, first.standalone wrote:You will find better support there.

I will find better help where? I mistakenly clicked on the link you provdided but it seems to go to the exact same forum. Where are you advising me to post this thread instead? thanks alot. I'm not very tech savvy so I'll ask you to pardon me for that.standalone wrote:It could be a privileges issue, try running Reaper as admin. The same forum? Are you sure? This is the "Site Stuff" sub-forum where issues concerning the day-to-day operation of this site are discussed. That links takes you to the LinPlug sub-forum where LinPlug gives support to their customers.
What's the difference? LinPlug's staff check that forum daily; this forum, never-ever.
But yes, both are green and blue with white letters, so I guess they are basically the same.
And I insist in what I said before: try to run Reaper as administrator to see if it makes any difference.
