Wow. High praise indeed DHM. This track was actually more "experimental" than my usual fare. When I put it together a couple of years ago, I had no idea where it was going. It turned out a little too "clean" for my taste so I tried to force a more "offbeat" feel by reprogramming synths, adding a few FX, and a little glitch.

Very cool. This does have a 1970s view of the future sort of sound (kraftwerkish) like an imagined time to come that will never come to pass.

Yeah. That bassline has certainly got a bit of Ralf und Florian in there. I don't know about lo-fi, but I didn't really add any HF in the first place. I was in a mellower mood than usual and was not trying to emulate my normal MO.

When i use synthy punchy basslines i always end up filtering them down to make room for other instruments in the frequency spectrum. But probably because of the big distance in high and low and smart use of the stereospectrum and sparseness of the arangement you didnt need to do this.

CM101 has a fairly basic feature set, but it can produce some nice sounds.

There were 13 instances of CM-101 in here. I used presets for 12 instances and modified all of the percussion. I also modified a couple of the non-percussion presets to try to get a better sound. In the end, it's the combination of sounds that does the work here.

I think mr.me may be having a go at remixing this.
