Well, if any of Melda's plugins were actually direct ripoffs of anything at IL, that would be one thing.

I actually wrote the same about GB's ripoff, copying it is one thing, and it's totally normal. Giving it the same 36 slots divided into 4*9, that's just a copy. Why 36 slots in GB? Because, why not? Why 36 slots in his copy?

And to bring back this fun story, when one of us tried to see if it was GrossBeat used in Derezzed, he concluded that yes, it was because it was using 2 or 3 of the stock presets. Then I joked "better first check that they didn't use Melda's clone, maybe he also copied the presets", and it turned out that yes, he did (but ok, just one preset)

but how much does it matter really when the plugin itself is completely different?

Again, I conceded Grossbeat. But you seem to be upset about the tokens. And you seemed to think that it was a continuing trend for him to copy your plugins, when it's obvious that most of his plugins have no equivalent in the IL product line.

Not that they are better or worse, just different in so many ways.

I don't know, maybe there is a slight history between you two. It's a shame. I smell sour grapes here, and I wish it didn't have to be that way as both devs are outstanding in what they do.

Well, I don't know the history, and quite frankly I'm not really that concerned with it. I do know that Melda had a rough stretch a long time ago, but has returned with absolute flying colors, and IMO, he's one of the good guys.

I think IL is one of the "good guys" as well.

Which is why I find it sad the whole situation.

I've got both MDynamicEQ and Maximus. There is similar functionality in both as well as many other plugs I use. I don't agree with the rip-off between these 2, different presentation and workflow altogether for common eq elements that have evolved over time since the first parametric and spectrum analyzers of the 70's. Obviously there's some history besides MDynamicEQ but that's the thread we're in, work it out somewhere else.

On topic - I'm really enjoying MDynamicEQ highly tweakable features such as linear/squared, steep slopes, as well as the harmonics/semitone section.

The only Image-line plug Melda copied is Grossbeat.

Multiband everything rules! The only multi band plugin in Fl studio is the compressor which is old... And Maximus, which doesn't have a melda copy.

And I don't want to use crossover plugins to create my own bands. I love Melda's multiband approach.

And FL studio doesn't have a Dynamic EQ..

IDK, I'm almost happy if it means I can get a usable clone on AU after apparent lack of interest for IL to port any of them after all these years. That said, still don't see Mdynamiceq clone of anything from IL website. No comment about the rest.
