Any tip on app that record calls that blend well into the interface?

- Can turn on/off manually easily at any time. When turned on active on all calls.
- Creates a new audio file for each call (mp3 or whatever)
- that does not consume cpu unless used and call active
- cause no distrubances on calls otherwise - losing calls etc.
- nice if it works over USB transport to move call files to/from PC
- some interface for managing recorded calls

Free or not does not matter. Good stuff matters...

Android 2.3.5 and Samsung Galaxy S II I9100.

Thanks.

Be aware that recording phone calls without the other caller's permission is illegal in many countries and some US states AFAIK.

One problem you might run into -- the apps I found that would run on my Droid X recorded what came into the mic. Apparently the OS version I'm running contains no facility for recording the other side of the conversation, except however much bleeds over into the microphone; speakerphone is pretty much mandatory for these apps to work, IIRC. I don't know whether this has been fixed in 2.3 and later versions.

Thanks for suggestion, will look into this app. Seems to meet up with all expectations - if it records normal headsets twoway also.

When talking to sales people there is often different opinion what was said and not - so for important calls it's vital to prove your point. Some companies are very aggresive.

Seems strange if somebody calls that you would not be allowed to record though. If they call are you not allowed to remember what they said either. "All memory if this call must be destroyed when hung up".

But to publish in any form I can understand is not allowed.

But if Google can make snap shots and publish public streets - where you might be - it seems to be ok.

I don't get it!

Big holes in legislation.

I came across a lot of info on this the other week when looking for such an app, and apparently it's perfectly legal to record a telephone call as an individual, not as a business - in at least the US and UK - without telling the other person. This is as long as one of the parties (ie you) know about the recording taking place, so third-party "wire-tapping" scenarios are excluded.

That seems to follow common sense - that's good to know. That's why it's ok for journalists to record video+audio in a canded way also - they are present doing it.

And now I think it's time to split the thread. Neither portion will be locked, so don't panic. The part that doesn't concern Android apps that can record a phone call will go to HPC, where you can discuss political aspects of telephone recording to your heart's content.

Temporary lock while I split, then unlock.
