thanks for listening everybody
yeah i use waves mpx quite a bit. it can sound crap if you go mental with it and you have to watch your gain staging, but i wouldn't be without it. i use Tone Boosters' Sonitex for noise, hiss, crackle, hum and the multitude of other tricks it can get up to. i highly recommend checking that out if you haven't already. i'm also a recent convert to slate's VCC. the Neve 'emulation' on that brings so much thickness to the sound. it's stunning.
thanks again folks
neil.

When this thing opened up, the 'texture' of it was just incredible. I figured that was the mpx.
As it moves along, maybe some of the 'sonitex stuff that happens later' could be toned down. I don't really know about that, one way or the other. It could all very well be 'perfect' as it is.
But yeah, when this piece opened up i was like, 'whoah, just listen to that recording!'

the sonitex is on the 'happy' sounding synth line. just a little crackle here and there.. the parts you mention later on may be the glitch bits..?
thanks for listening and your comments mate, i appreciate it

Amazing soundscape. It just oozes darkness.

Terrifically atmospheric piece of music, it has a real feeling of some kind of...dark power.

thanks liqih
i've never gone out of my way to make 'dark' music, it's just the way it comes out. i'm glad you noticed the light in this
