I thought you were working on the Berlin Modular. I'm getting confused by all of these synths - zebra, ace, berlin and now diva? Would be great to have a synth where almost every parameter could be step modulated but without annoying routing cables.

Is there an oberheim filter with this one? I'd love it to do OBX sounds.

We'll do a 50$ or so off introduction offer. My mind is too shredded right now to think about possible future discount options.

That's the curse of only having an ipad at home. I shouldn't answer anything till I'm back in the office - that was the plan me and my wife agreed on. But no. I pick some posts and go tnrough the hilariousness of typng answers on a virtual keyboard without cursor keys. And then I miss out on a lot of posts...

Forget instruments, i.e., bass, guitar, keys, pads, fx, drums, and so on . . .

What is/will be unique . . . MOST special about the sound produced by the following:

Zebra2
ACE

This is all wrong... hehehe

Zebra2 all around vast sound palette
ACE vitality and audio rate madness

Diva meaty crunchy analog goodness
Bazille audio-rate goodies and amazing special fx sounds and percussion

Oic! I've seen keyboards and such for tablets but i guess you want to avoid all that if your trying to keep home and office seperate!

If you think demoing these wonderful synths and listening to them yourself is an insult, which as Socrates would say is most likely the only way to truly answer your question, then I'm afraid can neither relate to nor help you!

In other words, what separates these synths from each other and other synths sonically.

Nothing. Sonically they are all on par to each other, with a slight temporary advantage for Diva. If there was a contest for objective sound quality among all softsynths, I'm pretty sure all of these would grab top positions.

Each however differs in technical parameters (features), and in the way they present themselves. Which leads to different kinds of sounds.

ACE, Bazille and Berlin Modular are somewhat "technical" with highly multifunctional ingredients. These invite to experiment, and thus many sounds tend to be "exotic" or "mad". On the other hand, they also do a lot of classic and modern electro sounds exceptionally well, where other synths may fall short.

Diva is the most limited synth in terms of features, but she compensates for that by offering the most meaty, thick and characterful sound.

FilterscapeVA may be the most dated, but its morphing eq per voice has become a secret weapon in the dance, hip hop and electro scene where ultra phat and yet defined basses and leads are needed. Somehow it seems to be the most intuitive synth for those who design sounds for specific purposes within a mix.

Zebra offers the widest palette of sonic manipulation, it invites to control every detail of a sound. It's rather difficult to pinpoint a speciality, because it's a true multipurpose synth. What sets Zebra apart though is the ability to synthesize very natural sounds that can be played with a lot of expression. Zebra can literally sound like anything, Zebra can speak, sing, bark, scream, shred, explode.

So, each of them can do all categories of sound. That's what synthesizers do. But the way a sound designer interacts with it, and the feature set that it presents, will put a different focus on each sound. With ACE it's "out of the box thinking" that leads to new and unheard sounds. With Diva it'll be all about nuances of sonic goodness. With FilterscapeVA and Zebra it's all about sculpting a sound to perfection.
