In the absence of being able to solve my previously posted problems about MIDI Sync Issues, I am trying another approach.
Using the footswitch controller on my Triton Extreme, I am trying to set up a trigger to control the tap tempo in Cantabile.
I, sort of, have it working but the tap tempo is being calculated based on the timing of the pedal presses AND the pedal releases.
How do I set up a filter to only allow the presses to be timed, not the releases?
I have chosen for midi CC66 (Sostenuto) from the triton's list of selectable parameters for the footswitch, as it is not one that any of my synths use by default.
Regards,
Paul

Hi Paul
I have an idea to solve your issue.
I hope it works but I cannot guarantee it.
Try to:
Create a new Midi routing table entry with your "Triton Extreme" (which I do not know - I am sorry) as source and Midi loopback 1 as target.
This way you have effectively created a new midi channel to be used in Cantabile.
In this new Midi routing entry press edit and select the Midi filters.
Create a Controller Latch filter with CC66 as the controller.
The latch filter will send out a defined series of CC values whenever it is activated.
In your case I assume you want value 127 and 0 to be sent out.
This is the default values anyhow so you do not have to change it.
Assign your Tap tempo to the CC66 controller from your new Midi Loopback channel.
Hopefully the tap tempo should reflect what you expect.
I am also using a foot controller for tap tempo, a Line6 Shortboard.
I had the same issues but within the shortboard sw one can change the behavior of the switches and I managed to make it work directly.
Unfortunately it means that the tap tempo outside Cantabile doubles the tempo.
Eventually I will try to do the same as I just described - so I hope it actually works.
Good luck
Kim

Actually that was not a very good idea. I am sorry
I was under the impression that the controller latch filter would convert every given incoming controller event to the defined values.
In my case I have a button, which produces a CC4 value:127 every time it is pressed.
I would like the filter to convert this to alternating values on 127 and 0
I.e.
Input: CC4 value:127 - CC4 value:127 - CC4 value:127 - CC4 value:127 - etc.
Should be:
Output: CC4 value:127 - CC4 value:0 - CC4 value:127 - CC4 value 0 - etc.
Do anybody know if this is possible?
Br, Kim

My aim is for a set-up where the switch 'off' parameter is ignored so that only the presses of the footswitch count towards the tap, otherwise I have to release it in time as part of the count.
Not at all ideal.
I have experimented with many different filter setting but cant figure it out.
Thanks
Paul
