Where is the option to spread the staged oscillators with unison in the stereofield? Most synth having a option for this ("spread" is often used there).jancivil wrote:that's incorrect. What do you think 'uni' stands for?4damind wrote:Absynth had no unison spread
There is also another implementation in FXPansion. There the voices in unison can be spread in the stereo field with a attached modulation/controller (unison is a source for a controller the target can then be there stereo pan).
I hope there is such a option in Absynth but I have not found it, so my question if somebody has an idea.

- a glass of "Absinth"
sould be perhaps be renamed:
- a glass of "Ben Laden"
On topic though: i find the granular synthesis options in Absynth really unique !

I wonder if you would be kind enough to post the vid?deastman wrote:I absolutely adore Absynth. I've been using it for years and it just keeps getting better. It is always my first go-to synth for any kind of video scoring work when I need to come up with sound effects, ambiences, or interesting melodic elements. Not long ago I scored a whole video just using the mutations function, and I got tons of compliments on the soundtrack.
I can appreciate how Absynth might seem obtuse to the casual user, but the sound mangling possibilities are endless. I've never even touched the external-audio-as-modulation-source capabilities! Really powerful tool.

ok, you may call this a workaround, but here: the oscillators can be placed differently in the stereo field. you could have two or three oscilators with the same basic patch, but use the uni trans differently in them and uni trans and uni trans rand controlled by envelopes. for starters. and you can add the parameter to 'assignment' per macro controllers in 'perform'. your spread is available in the little boxes below the signal path in the interface.4damind wrote:Where is the option to spread the staged oscillators with unison in the stereofield? I wish I could. 90% of my work is never cleared for public release. It's gonna be a real bitch if I ever lose my job and need to show a demo reel.any1particular wrote:I wonder if you would be kind enough to post the vid?deastman wrote:I absolutely adore Absynth. To me Absynth is kind of a dark horse. The GUI is a little off-putting, but beyond that it's just got a weird workflow unlike other things. That's both its strength and its weakness.
It isn't a desert island synth for me, but I'm glad I have it as part of Komplete. I use it more than Reaktor.

When it first came out Absynth was far and away the best atmosphere and weirdness synth available. But it has hardly moved in years. Just like a 1930s car, it may have some style and fans, but it sure ain't state of the art in any department.

For soundscapes, I'll take Zebra, Tassman, Bazille and Alchemy (plus my Edirol recorder) any day over Absynth
btw, I own Absynth and every 6 months or so I open it, get amazed at all the soundscape in a keypress presets, then close it and never use it til 6 months later when I repeat that!
ps - Bazille is amazing for sound FX stuff...

Your demos are absolutely stunning. You are an exceptional programmer. I have always felt Absynth is an atmosphere / soundtrack synth and your patches are the cream of the crop in this category. I got so many patches with Ultimate though I don't need any more for at least quite a while, but if I were looking for atmospheric stuff you'd be my first choiceSampleconstruct wrote:Let some Absynth Demos speak for themselves - it's a great piece of Software if you treat it right
I'm a player and I don't use Absynth for bread and butter sounds at all. With all its depth, you can't set the pitch bend separately for up and down, which really puts me off any synth. I know, it sounds stupid, but that's because I use PB all the time and prefer unusual settings.

You're kidding, right? It's come a fair way since I've been using it... I think I started at V2 and that wasn't that long ago.spirit wrote:When it first came out Absynth was far and away the best atmosphere and weirdness synth available. But it has hardly moved in years.
