Sorry if this has been asked before but I just want to be clear before I get too excited and spend my money.
If I attach the iRig Midi device to my ipad am I right in thinking that using apps like tnr-I I can control analogue synths like my Dave Smith Instruments Mopho?
Would I also be able to export Midi data in this way into Ableton Live?

The App has to support iOS Core MIDI for it to work with the iRig MIDI. Here's a list (which I'm not completely sure is up to date) showing supported Apps for the iRig MIDI;

Then as long as the App supports Core MIDI you're away
Speaking of the DSI Mopho there's a short section in this vid I made using Genome MIDI to control my DSI TETR4;

In addition to supporting Core MIDI the app must also send MIDI Out. You will need to find out if TNR-I (or any other app you are interested in using) sends MIDI Out. I did a quick search and found something saying it DOES support MIDI out, but I would really double-check to be sure.

Add. to the above: ALWAYS read the app description, usally the devs mention what kind of MIDI /OSC etc. support, they have.
[wrong]As far as the TNR-I is concerned it doesn't support neither MIDI In nor Out.
I have it, so I can say for sure.[/wrong]
see below.

Oh Boy, my serious apologies!
I was barely so wrong in my live, before.
The Tenori App does not only support MIDI Clock In and Out (Master/ Slave) but also MIDI-Note send and recieve for all 16 Layers on their own MIDI separate channels 1-16.
Additinally to that, if you hold L1+L5 and press Home, and then restart the app after killing the it from the Multitasking-list (double Home) you get an advanced Mode in the System Menu with additional editable functions in the Layer, Play and Edit Menus. the Layer-menu even follows the Layer selection.
AND
it works perfectly with the IKM iRig.
have Fun!
