When will Spectrasonics announce Stylus RMX 2?

Heh, heh ... Naw, I just couldn't clearly write what I was trying to say ... so, since I couldn't delete after I posted, I edited. Maybe after I get some sleep I'll be able to get it right.
How about 'nuked?'
Work better?

I'm hoping they'll add the ability to import WAV so you can slice your own loops(and remix them) with Stylus RMX. Because without Recycle the software is actually useless if you have WAV loops you want to use.

Sounds like you want Geist, which already exists and has a visual slicer and built in sampler. I hope Spectrasonics does something completely different... whatever they do I'm sure I'll buy it.

Yep,Spectrasonics need to watch out for the competition, I almost feel like selling Stylus RMX and buying Geist(using the CM upgrade), but I know Spectrasonics LT's are a pain in the butt. But hopefully they'll read this(Below).lightsfadelow wrote:Sounds like you want Geist, which already exists and has a visual slicer and built in sampler. WAV/Rex Import(using the VST) and visual loop slicer, so we can also delete hits and move them around, plus start stop positions added.
Stylus RMX may not be the ultimate loop player anymore, Geist is I think!

I think Spectrasonics' job is to push the envelope in new areas. I doubt they're interested in building something that competes head-to-head feature-to-feature with another product that already satisfies a category. They are innovators. As such, I expect them to do nothing that we have been asking for and blow us away with something completely different for their next product.

If there is a Stylus RMX2, I hope that Spectrasonics doesn't try to make it like Geist (and I doubt that they will). Knowing Spectrasonics, I would guess that SRMX2 would be designed to work more elegantly with their existing product line (i.e., Omnisphere and Trilian), rather than trying to make it copy the competition.
Even though I already own ReCycle, it would definitely be nice to have some ReCycle-type functionality built into SRMX2 to facilitate import and slicing of third-party loops/samples.

Agreed ... but wouldn't they then have to pay something to Propellors' if they are using their loop processing technology as opposed to simply the playback technology (which, maybe they already pay for as well)?cryophonik wrote:If there is a Stylus RMX2, I hope that Spectrasonics doesn't try to make it like Geist (and I doubt that they will). Anyway, since I still use hardware, Recycle has a lot of other 'trick's up its sleeve ... like SDMI transfer to samplers.
OK ... My number one feature request is this: When you browse to load a loop for a track, I want RMX to default to that same location for the next loop you load into another track, instead of having to navigate back through the whole browser again. Even if you're not loading individual drum loops from a drum kit, it is ofter something else in that folder or that folder collection you'd like to add. I hate having to start all over each time.

I'll offer a vote of decent for a dedicated hardware controller for Stylus... I don't see the point. It's super easy to set up with a garden variety MIDI controller as it is and do we really need yet another box on our tables?
What I would like to see is a robust "song mode" that includes some intelligent "jamming" ala mDrummer or Jamstix. The chaos function is nice, but to be really useful it needs to go another step.
I'd also love to see an audio in version that would let me sequence those gorgeous onboard effects.

There's about 24 hours left (or so) on the RMX Paks for $11 at esoundz.com. Check out the Terry Bozzio and Bill Bruford paks! Unreal!

I bought also Omnisphere only few weeks ago. Workflow, sounds, handling is userfriendly solved; espacially from my point of view, cause mostly I play live/improvising and wouldn't study complicated VST instruments
Stylus/Trilian...I guess would be also great....but the price...addtional
550€ for both...
Perhaps next year or the year after
What I'm missing in Omnisphere are additional sound-/patchbanks (also for buying). Obvouisly there is no business case, cause there is nearly nothing avaible in comparison to other VST. The sounds are great, but I miss "a lot of" like great i.e. Piano-/E-Piano-/Strings-Sound. Obvouisly is this not the approach of Spectransoncis.

Well if you *did* want to learn more, omnisphere is a very deep and powerful synth. Just watch the totorials on Spectrasonics' site.
As for the patches, there are probably more patches included in omnisphere's price than in most other synth's entire possible library of add-ons. But they don't so standard samples. Like piano. For that you probably need a straight sampler like kontakt (or the free player that is bundled with a lot of sample libraries).
If you haven't gone to Spectrasonics' website to update from the install DVDs, do. There are probably 1000 new patches that have been released free to customers that come with te soundset and library updates.

You absolutly right! In comparison to all the other VST I have, the Omnisphere offers the absolutly most content. Also Omnisphere is for me the nearest solution with this huge content to a hardware synthesizer.
But, would'nt it not be great, to have also the named samples in it?
Omnisphere is so professional in sound design...see i.e. the choir/voices.
Why not also offer the other sounds. I wouldn't have a problem to buy packages of additional sounds, if a package is below 100€. So anybody could decide, if an which package is interesting.
I have the update already made, some weeks ago as I insalled the DVDs.

Long shot, since there has been some valid info that something is coming, is it worth buying stylus 2nd hand? Recently i only used the electro fruns in Omnisphere since all other instruments with drums do not cut it. The few samples in omni is great and i want all that spectrasonics can offer. Since some say that spectrasonics always announces their products in advance before launch, can someone say for sure that there wont be a new drum/percussion product in like six months?
