Thanks paterpeter. Yes "D" stands for notes with a single dot, "T" for ones with three dots. The single dot increases note's duration by half, the triple dot by 7/8. For example, like paterpeter said:

1/4D = 1/4 + 1/4 * 1/2 = 3/8;
1/4T = 1/4 + 1/4 * 7/8 = too lazy to calc.

D and T timings are great for stereo delay. With T and D you are able to produce nice stereo patterns, which are impossible with usual timings. The good starting point is 1/4 for the left channel and 1/4D for the right one.

Oh? I would have expected T to stand for triplets (ie. 1/4T = 1/4 * 2/3). I don't have Diversion (yet) so I haven't checked that in practice.

Yes, you could already use PayPal + freemails like hotmail, gmail, etc. Recently I asked ShareIt and they have disabled the freemailer restriction for my account. So nightmare with a manual hotmail handling is gone now.

Hey Dmitry!

I just figured out that i can use an MSEG to create a really REALLY fast lfo by zooming in and creating a small triangle wave there. Is there any stability reasons why i shouldn't do this or could it be possible to have the lfo's go even faster?

The speed can naturally be controlled by the main X/Y by modulating the rate of the MSEG

I'd love to hear how it is going for you!

PS. The 48db bandpass filter is AWESOME! How come it sounds so .. "wide" in a lack of better words? Usually 12db is most usable where 24db only lets so little audio pass through. And then you have 48db and it's the best bandpass i've used!

Hey Björn! Yes, the speed of LFOs is limited in range [0 … 50-100 Hz]. So there are no audio rate modulations in Diversion. The reason is pretty simple. All modulations are generated at the original sample rate to save CPU, while all audio signals are oversampled by 2, 4 or 8. For alias-free audio rate modulations both audio and modulations must run at the same sample rate, otherwise a strong aliasing occurs. Thus to allow audio rate mods I have to increase the sample rate for LFO/MSEG/EG, but I can't do this because Diversion will consume much more CPU in that case. However, I can simply allow faster speed for LFOs, but results will be ugly because of aliasing (which you can also see with a fast MSEG).

The word "Wide" is great for BP 48 dB. This filter has a wide passband (one octave) compared to usual BPs and it sounds great. BTW, now the passband of this filter can be controlled and it sounds cooler when modulating both the passband and cutoff. The update is approaching to its end, soon it will be available. Can't wait to show all improvements.

I was wondering also if it would be possible to add maybe six macro controls of some sort. Most midicontrollers has 8 knobs and while two of them are obvious to assign (master x/y), the other six are more difficult and depend on the patch so much. Having six macro controls (would work just like the x/y with modulation assignment) you could have more real-time control over the madness

I hope things are going well for you! Has the winter come for you yet? There's been stormy here, but no snow yet. Our southwestern part of Sweden is exposed to the Atlantic so much more power outtakes and fallen trees happening there. Im just a bit north of it so nothing like that here yet

If my geographic memory serves me right, you're not exposed to the ocean like that and i don't know if the Baltic Sea is to compare with the Atlantic in terms of wind.

I'll think about 8 controls. Though I don't like more than two master controls, I have many requsets to add them. So it seems I need to do that

Belarus is closed from the winds and seas. Here are quiet climatic conditions. During the last years the snow comes only in December-January. Now there is no cold, no snow, no strong wind, even no rain. Dark and boring. I'm affraid we are abandoned by Father Frost.

I've been messing around with the demo and I'm really loving it.

I especially like that you can route the MSEG to multiple destinations. Great for automating the cutoff and bit rate/FM for basslines. The sound is great. Very impressed.

When it first came out I was a little intimidated by the GUI not looking like a typical subtractive synth, but now that I've revisited Diversion & read the manual, I'm excited by the possibilities.

Thanks awol9000, I'm really glad you like the synth. You are right, GUI looks a bit overcomplex because of lots of possibilities. For the current update I'm still able to add new features while keeping GUI consistent. But I don't know will this be possible to not destruct GUI in future, when I'll add all planned features.

I think the GUI becomes really easy once you read the manual. Infact, I'm finding diversion really easy compared to other synths because almost all features are shown in one page. Specially the the fact that you can modulate/umodulate by right clicking, and change mod amount by right clicking and dragging, really easier than picking source/destination in the mod matrix.

For new users, may be some tutorial videos would help though.

I think in the same way. Diversion's GUI may seems complex only at the first look, especially when compared with other synths. There are many logics put into GUI to make soundmaker's life much easier. After Diversion I'm automatically trying to use right clicks and drugs on knobs in every synth and swearing when that can't be done.

Further I'll try to add possibility to fully ignore ModMatrix when tweaking the synth.

Yes, I want to make some sort of video tutorials, not only for beginners. But I need more time for this. I hope to start soon.

That would be awesome! Advanced video tutorials by you would be a dream! Your sounds are always really, really great and creative (I can't say that often enough

)! Not the usual trance plucks etc. over and over again
