Against the wind and the popular 15 year old opinion I vote for the dongle. If you want the cash to flow it is the only solution.

Satson and Stripbus have it.
Nice idea!

Tone2 and PLogue also have similar ( read : "individual") copy protection schemes.
They are not very intrusive, and hopefully it works fine...

Too late for 1.5 maybe, but MCP will/should/must have its place in the future and so a user friendly copy protection should, too.

I understand the shiny shiny and yet still for at least 8 hours yesterday i was impressed with the pack hahaha, take three steps back, take a deep breath and recalculate, OK so at least 40 of those plugins are easily bettered by MCP and the others are modulation effects that are not even comparable and not that great
I just saved myself $99 hahahaha

Hmmmmm now there is a thought, a multi effect brother of MCP with your chorus's and flangers and verbs and stuff hmmmmmmm

Anyway just wanted to point out that the impact of many little plugins that actually don't hold a candle to MCP getting so much hype right now is very valid to my earlier point ;)
I've been demoing the nomad plugs I don't have for the past few days and out of the 50+ plugs I would say there are 2 or 3 that are not world class. As with any audio plug the results you get really depends on the audio material they are used on. In any case most of the NF plugs are marketed as vintage analog type plugs and in this regard they are as good as any.

If anything Nomad Factory plugs get far too little attention around here, I'm glad to see this deal and the other no-brainers have changed that.

As for Mixcontrol it's a fantastic plugin and I have stopped using DDMF EQ because of it. I would love to see those modules as separate plug-ins though, especially the EQ and Compressor.

As a Cubase user I personally wouldn't care about having one more license on my dongle. I'm not opposed to the idea of dongles anyway, it sits in your USB slot. I don't understand people who oppose dongles just on principle, this has nothing to do with Music production but rather some kind of weird politics (as if having to deal with a desktop computer or laptop and a bunch of MIDI controllers was less hassle than a little piece of plastic?). :nutter:
I'm sure there are many out there who refuse to use dongles who might have otherwise discovered that Cubase was the love of their life but alas they will never find out.. :hihi:

We've decided that MCP will retain it's current system of simple keyfile so as not to disturb the current userbase with new copy protection schemes. We have also decided that all future software releases will be much more closely monitored, and will not be sold to users with disposable e-mail addresses. Dongles and harsh protection schemes fall outside of our intented business plan and our focus will primarily be to provide more unique plug-ins which lack similar competition. We think this is more in line with other long-term software development organizations, and we are optimistic that our efforts will work to our advantage. Cracking unfortunately cannot be stopped, and I'm happy that we have decided against wasting the time, energy and funds to combat it.

We will also be organizing a group buy period. We have included each user who has purchased since MixControl Pro's release and will announce the start of the group buy in the next day or two.

Is hotmail a disposable address? If yes, I have to update my account.

Ok then, so you choose not to use "harsh protection schemes" but at the same time you won't sell to people with "disposable" e-mails.

I am already a Mix Control customer but I have to lol at this

Why? What is there that is laughable about it? I'm not sure I follow.

I guess Steven means mail addresses like 10minutemail etc. @Steven, I appreciate that you're trying not to punish paying customers. Keep this spirit up, it's the right way. Best luck for your sales!

Because in my dictionary using a dongle is less enforcive and harsh than must having an e-mail address of a specific standard and my software being "close monitored", but that's just me....

Yes, this is the idea :)

There will also be some options available to those who A) are already repeat customers, and B) can verify through online distribution accounts (SoundCloud, Facebook, etc) their identity. This might seem like a strict requirement, but our goal is to sell software only to those who are creating and distributing music legitimately.

I think it would be best to just wait until future releases are available and then you can decide for yourself if you wish to participate.

I still think you should put user name encrypted in GUI. A sort of personalized plugin. Look at Sonimus Satson and Sknote plugins. None of the new versions was cracked, and i'm a proud owner of the later with my name in it.
