Akai Minak Vs Novation Xio 25

I have the Novation Xio 25. I am not totally pleased with it's overall
quality of sounds. I used to love the sound of my Micron(don't have it anymore), especially vs the Xio. I hear the Miniak's engine is similar to the Micron.
I know there are some concerns regarding the programming and no software editor but would like to hear anyone's impressions. The price of the Miniak has come down substantially and I might sell the Xio if I like the Miniak over it.
The Xio does have some advantages as far as a controller and you can create templates so if I have to take much of a loss selling the Xio, I may still keep it. I should mention that I do plan on buying the Mopho module for real analog mono sounds but want something to compliment it with more polyphony. Any comments?

Your wrong, their is a software editor in the form of a VSTi, I use it and it's flawless, yes the Miniak is very good, same engine as Micron/Ion, I prefer the Miniak VA sound to my Ultranova so far.

Yeah I just noticed the Hypersynth editor right after this post. I do have an Edirol UM-550 5 in and out usb midi patchbay/interface and while Edirol has
discontinued it there is Window 7 support and it works just fine if not better than most Usb midi controller/synths I have used latency wise

Oh another thing, I don't see a list of cc's for the Miniak, at least in the manual. If it can receive CC's from another knob ridden midi controller, where could I find a list for them?

I don't know the answer to that as I have a remote zero sl mk II with automap, but I still keep using the mouse with the vst out of habit...

But Miniak combined with Hypersynth editor makes it a worthwhile synth, I wouldn't want the miniak without it, I'd want an Ion. infact I'd still like an Ion because they also do a Vsti for that too...as well as the micron!
