Your right about the Zebra having a better UI though..

I'm just an AAS junkie I guess..

But I want to get a DIVA when it's done it's another interface that encourages experimentation.. But Heavy CPU use means that I'm going to have to get another Computer if I'll use that one. Zebra on the otherhand can be more CPU friendly but it isn't on my list for some strange reason..

I love the sound and power of Tassman, but the GUI is painful. I'm also an AAS junkie. String Studio is an incredible synth! I am really into physical modeling. I have live studio which includes Collision (almost the same as Chromaphone) and it is also very impressive. IMO Zebra stands right there with them for modeling realistic sounds. If you like AAS stuff for modeling organic sounds, you would like Zebra too if you got into it.

I'm downloading Chromaphone now! AAS had to put the coupling in which may make me get it (for the special price) over Collision!

Was just demoing Chromophone and deciding whether to get it for $89 when I realised that TODAY ONLY for an extra $10 I could get the whole Modelling Collection.
I've never made a purchase so quickly in my life!!!
Hehehe, neither have I...this only took me about 5 minutes from reading this post, to having the modeling collection. You little beauty!

I knew that I had String Studio and Tassman, and...I thought...I'll jump on this because I love Lounge Lizard 3 and Ultra Analog, not a big fan of the Strum series but they're not bad, but Chromaphone is a big bonus...I think it was only $124.95 or thereabouts.

Thank you so much for the tip, I'm so glad I read this thread...otherwise I would never have known. Big Kudos!

You know, this really sucks.... I wasn't convinced at first, but I love this type of instrument, so I dug into the demo a little more. The coupling really does add a sonic element that gives the sounds more natural depth when compared with Collision. The intro price pushed me over the edge... so I guess I changed my first assessment.

It's still not a huge difference, mind you, but the subtleties were nice enough to convince me. Maybe I can sell Collision at some point to some unsuspecting soul.

If there are around synths that already can do sounds like chromaphone, they aren't simple and immediate as the AAS one from my experience with this kind of sounds.
The key is that it is specialized in this range of sounds, so you can easily obtain good results doing the shortest road.
What i find cool is the possibility to obtain also weird sounds in no time, not only the realistic stuff!
IMO, it's a must have for all the drum synths addicted. :tu:

Yeah, I'd have done this too - if I hadn't rushed out and got Chromaphone :dog:

Here is a little Doomachrome Jam using a Steel Clavi I made this morning and some custom drums...

Very clever, Sampleconstruct!

I hope that you realize that your demo's are probably selling more Chromaphone then AAS's demo's on their website!

As heard on The Simpsons:

'Chromadiddilyphone'

Well, who knows what it's good for from my perspective...I'll publish a Bank for Chromadiddilyphone on patchpool soon so I might get my share of the deal :)

I played in Church for years, and there were times that I felt like I had nailed it, and the congregation would just sit there, and stare at me...LOL! You get used to it...

Your demos do the deed of showing off Chromaphone in a raw way-that's good. Collectively, they display fertile sonic ground.

To put it another way: Give us a 24 track recorder like a Roland VS-2480 and a little time, and we could make even a Yamaha FB-01 sound like a monster, Sampleconstruct-it's not magic.

That's why I often times don't trust a company's 'polished' demo's.

So true - I only do naked demos for all my soundsets, makes no sense to delude the customer - very seldomly I put some external Reverb on the demos but then I always mention that in the track title/demo description.

Is there any upgrade path for users of the modelling bundle?

If you're registered, you should've received an email with an offer to buy Chromatone for $89.

/Joachim
If it were easy, anybody could do it!

I did receive it, but that is to buy the product separately, isn't it? I was asking for a bundle upgrade path.

Anyway,I am going to try this this afternoon. I am particularly curious to see how it plays with my Roland HPD-15.

Damn all these sales.I really don't need anymore VST's and already bought Dcam and now maybe this....
