Cytomic The Glue is a cool little tool in its own right. The minimal number of settings is interesting but seems to reduce its versatility quite a bit. Don't get me wrong it sounds great and I love watching the gain needle thwack against the wall, but it definitely falls into the more mild category of compressors, but its not a precision compressor either. It's a sort of in-between a few categories, but something about it I like. I might need to get this one, but it didn't completely blow me away. (don't flame me bro!)
de la Mancha Bathtub I forgot I just picked this up in dlM's winter bundle. First of all, beautiful UI, the knobs could be a bit bigger, but thats dlM for you
de la Mancha Sidearm is a weird creature. It can be pushed to harsh digital extremes that are basically unusable, but it can also be pushed into some really musical obliteration. I don't know what to make of this one, but since I already own it I guess I'll be getting to know it pretty well. I think its very purpose-built and thats why I'm getting the weird impression. I'll need to try it on some complex material for it to really shine.
de la Mancha GT Series are some I've had for a while. There was a time I was using them constantly, but once I got into RoughRider they sounded pretty "squashy" in comparison. I did like being able to dial up the mojo over 9000 if I so wished though.
That's the compressor that started this discussion actually. I've been using it for ages and figured I should take a look at the market for something similar with more features. Things have taken a decidedly more involved turn since thenkev2525 wrote:I love the sound of the rough rider free compressor from audio damage. I love what it does to drums. Definitely worth checking out!!
