They certainly do, if they have a name for it (shilling) then it's a known problem. ;) Ebay have even prosecuted some people who bid up their own auctions.

I've found that when I started on ebay (late 90s), auctions seemed to slowly build from the start with maybe a bit of a rush at then end. Nowadays I rarely get a bid until the auctions nearly over then (hopefully :)) a mad rush where it escalates in the last few minutes.

Thanks for that info guys :)

For some reason, I felt like I just HAD to avail myself of Guitar Center's 15% off Cyber Monday thing on something, so I ordered an Ibanez SRT900DX bass on impulse (I'd never even heard of that model until shortly before ordering it). Main appeal was that it has a pair of EMG DC's like some Spector Euro models, but doesn't have a thick gloss coat on the back of the neck like most Spectors and has an upper horn that extends to the 12th fret so the bass sits where I want it to (instead of way off to the left like the Spectors).

Haven't had a bass with EMG's around for a couple of years and kind of miss that modern/articulated sound a bit. If it doesn't float my boat, it's easy enough to fire it back.

Why's that, hibidy - do you play Ibanez guitars?

It was the ATK that got me into Ibanez basses - I've been playing ATK's for the last few years and really like them (granted, my #1 ATK isn't stock - it's got a Nordstrand MM pickup in it). This will be my first Ibanez with the really slim SR neck (the ATK necks are P Bass-like, very thick). Not sure what I'll make of it.

I've noticed Ibanez change their lineup of instruments almost as often as people who work for fashion magazines change their wardrobe. The model I ordered came out a couple of years ago and is already discontinued, it seems.

As much as I talk about ibby I don't know if that is joking or not :hihi:

In case is was not, I have 3 prestige RG's and hope to have a 4th (but I don't think it will happen)

Hell, I'm wearing an ibanez hoody right now  Can't play for shit but still love being into them :)

Ah, cool! I was a bit synth obsessed the last 2-3 years and hadn't hung out much in the guitar threads, so I was genuinely oblivious to your Ibby love, hehe. It's only been over the last year or so that my interest in more guitar/bass-driven music has gradually caught fire again.

there's only one guitar company for me and that's Gibson :tu:
