Create an expansion pack for TVEC 3.1 violins (Concert Strings II/Diamond) that includes new disco-oriented articulations such as slides.
I thought PRS was just a slimmed-down version of CSII, so I was under the impression, I'd have everything included in PRS as well when buying CSII. I bought the "whole nine yards" bundle of Diamond, CBII and CSII and now I'm not sure what to do, is there more stuff in PRS that's not in CSII? For the current price, i could grab PRS, too, but on the other hand I don't want a lot of duplicate samples/patches on my harddrive to just get the "disco" sutff.

For the recod, this group buy and the way Kirk handles things are awesome and frankly this is in a large part responsible for piquing my interest in orchestration. It just comes to pass that I'm planning on a heavy metal project together with a friend that's going to make good use of some orchestral parts and audioworkshop have just released an awesome 11 hour tutorial dvd with Achim Brochhausen, so for all German speakers, I definitely recommend that one (sadly, so far I haven't seen him use KH libraries though).

What I want to say is this: I know I've got an incredible deal on a tool that's going to enable new musical endeavours for me and I'm not complaining at all, I just always like the feeling of "completeness", so I'd like to know what exactly I'm missing out on if I don't have PRS and if there's going to be an inclusion of those thing into CSII at some point. At the current price, one could argue that PRS is a no-brainer if there's ever been one, it's just the tradeoff between a (possibly substantial) overlap between CSII and PRS and the articulations missing from CSII that I'm pondering

only the short note disco effect

it makes sense to me that it's in Pop/Rock Strings but not Concert Strings 2

there aren't any articulations missing in CS2

mine had previously expired but when I went to download this update they were renewed

maybe clear the cache in your browser

Mine is prolonged too
mine stays expired no matter what browser I use. clearing cache does not help.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. It makes sense to me as well  I still second the request for a (paid) "upgrade" for CSII to include the short note effect.

I was asking myself the same, searched several times with no success. It would be nice if this were tweakable too.

And: yes: It is VERY VERY nice to have the developer of the library "at hand" here and I am also very thankfull for the excellent customer treatment and support!
Thank you!

I guess size matters. I'll look into that too. Kontakt is a bit fussy about such things. And you should also use the control key while drawing curves. It's how to do straight lines. I make my curves using successions of small straight lines.

To everyone who feels this way, I urge you to share your experience in the Group Buy thread. A great way to show your gratitude for Kirk for great libraries at absurdly low prices is by letting others no about your satisfaction.

In order to make this kind of extreme discounting (75% or more) worthwhile to Kirk Hunter Studios, it, of course, takes a lot of sales to make up for revenue that would have been made from sales at or near regular prices. It also means that if anyone would like to see future libraries made at very affordable prices it would take A LOT of customers to make that happen. My goal is to get this Group Buy to 700 participants, so I can make the case for additional, affordable libraries. I can use your help in getting there.

I'd urge everyone not to simply join the GB thread and disappear once you've started using your library, but please share your thoughts, insights, hopes for future libraries, info on how your using your libraries, audio clips, etc. with others in the GB thread. In a very real sense, you'll be helpful yourself, if you want future affordable libraries from Kirk Hunter Studios.

Following this Group Buy, I'm going to be working with Kirk to discuss future Kirk Hunter Studios libraries and pricing. If I can project that there would be 300 or more likely buyers for a library, I can make a solid case to invest in producing that library and also, potentially, to price it lower if I can confidently project that a decent amount of people will buy it. So the higher we can take the number of people in the Group Buy, the more likely I will be successful in making the case for new libraries this group wants, and even more, pricing them very affordably (perhaps even through another Group Buy; as when we can sell 500 licenses at once, we can sell each license for A LOT LESS money).

Peter AKA eDrummist

I ask because I made some files of my own for strings and I am wondering if I need to redo any of that or if I can just drop the Brass instruments in and leave the rest alone.
Brass and woodwidns. Both use 6th and 7th downward intervals.

The ONLY thing you get with PRS that you don't get in CS2 is the "disco" effect. Here is a chart that compares the 2:

For that "disco" effect in Concert Strings 2.......not gonna happen. :) It's just too much work to put into the already HUGE groups in CS2. And also, IMO, it's not that big of a must-have anyway. :D

So you want to disable the attack knob altogether? You can always set it to 0. Also, in "Settings", set the LegAttk knob to 0 as well. http://www.kirkhunterstudios.com/Concer ... egato.html
