Multitrack recording with iPad

Hey all.
I'm getting an iPad 2 from work and I would like to use it as a multitrack recorder (MTR). I would like some suggestions about MTR apps and IO hardware (currently considering the Alesis IO Dock).
I use sequencers a lot so I need MIDI clock sync, at least 8 tracks, basic editing/overdubbing/punching, and the ability to export individual tracks as WAV files for additional editing/mixing/mastering in my DAW (Sonar 7PE). Basic effects are welcome but not necessary; MIDI sequencing is not necessary, either.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

The only app I know that supports simultaneous recording of 8 tracks is Multitrack DAW http://www.harmonicdog.com/ which seems to work with the Tascam US-800 interface at least. There's some threads on their forum, for example http://forum.harmonicdog.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=656 Check them out..fac wrote:Hey all.

There's strong rumours that the iPad 3 will be a huge step forward in power and abilities however, and that will probably launch in march, so if you're planning on using it for large scale projects, try to convince work to wait a couple months..

Thanks for your response. I need at least 8 tracks of playback, but I can manage with recording 1 or 2 tracks at a time. The ipads have already been ordered, so it will definitely be an iPad 2 with 32 Gb and Wi-Fi.
I have a very old Edirol UA-30 interface, so I might try and see first if that works with the USB camera adapter, although the UA-30 does not have MIDI.

Thanks for the link to that thread. It informed me that the US-800 is being blown out for $99 and I just bought one. Not only it apparently works fine with the iPad, but also will work with any of my computers. I've finally upgraded my 12 year old interface.olja wrote: The only app I know that supports simultaneous recording of 8 tracks is Multitrack DAW http://www.harmonicdog.com/ which seems to work with the Tascam US-800 interface at least. Now I only have to buy the USB camera adapter and wait for the ipad to arrive.

Be wary of crappy support from TASCAM - that's my experience so far with the US-800. They certainly don't have a good Win7 driver yet, but I realize that's of no concern for your iPad use.
