No I meant why is it Eco? AS in, does that stand for economical? I just don't understand the relation between the MS-20 osc and performance. A simpler model somehow?Urs wrote:Yes, it is. Well, the MS-20 (like many Korg synths of that era) is a bit of a wonder in efficency. It's got a minimum part count for what it does. So we thought it would only be fair to model its counterpart in Diva as economical as possible.Echoes in the Attic wrote:No I meant why is it Eco? AS in, does that stand for economical? Its lack of PWM and oscillator sync made it a perfect candidate for saving some cpu.

If it turns out that release before X-mas was too optimistic (fully understandable btw), would it be possible then to have the beta expire at a later point in time? I would not be able to live without Diva anymore, so much I am in love with herUrs wrote:we still want to release before x-mas... if at all possible...

OTOH I think we fixed all sonical issues... most of what's left is ui related... we might still make it...

amazing soft synth, most analogue sounding yet, well done!
will the new beta fix the "aliasing style noise" of the FM mentioned in this thread?:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... c&start=75
i saw you were working on improving FM in a gearslutz thread
are we still to expect a new beta at any moment? i am checking far too often to be healthy
by the way Urs, have you listened to the music of Isao Tomita? this is the best analogue synthesis ever in my opinion. this is what i would like you to emulate:

and please listen to The Planets album!

We fixed a gazillion of bugs... FM should sound as good as it gets now...
Tomita... I had some vinyl back then, haven't listened to his stuff in ages...

Looking forward to the update! (Hoping the rest of the parameters/buttons/menus are automatable now!)
This is the first soft synth with which I've been able to replicate some seriously nasty synth sounds from some favorite albums. Thank you so much for making Diva.

It's impossible to eliminate all aliasing, but I think we've done a pretty good job. It gets audible at extreme settings, in which one might argue it doesn't really matter all that much.atukao wrote:Has all aliasing been eliminated?Urs wrote:We fixed a gazillion of bugs... I'm working on a Planets album of my own, sort of in the vein of Tomita, but different: http://soundcloud.com/mike-leghorn/sets/the-planetsthermal wrote: by the way Urs, have you listened to the music of Isao Tomita? this is the best analogue synthesis ever in my opinion. this is what i would like you to emulate:

So far all the sounds are from Zebra, ACE, Tyrell, and z3ta2 (sorry to use a non-Uhe product). I'm working on Venus now, and Diva will definitely come in handy for that.

now a question about your vision for DIVA...
would you consider DIVA pretty much "feature complete" once its released or are there big plans to make this thing even crazier than it already it is?
