You could also use the extra time to create multiple entries. (Hint, hint!)EdC wrote:Yep!! I was going to post now my entry rushed in two days, but now I can relax and learn a bit more from this wonderful library posting a better work.

We never put a limit on the number of entries someone is allowed to submit. We're going to limit one award per person, but if someone wants to submit ten songs, we'll listen to and carefully consider each one.

The Cello is from Solo strings 1 and the other instruments are kinda... "non symphonic orchestra instruments"...

But there are some missing thing that I'd like to fix in my first entry. I think I'll post it in two or three days and than I move to the more challenging one

Well, a lot of beautiful entries here.. Here is mine.
I know it could be better if I only knew how to master portamento and vibrato. I'll learn it, I promise
Mozart K546 adagio - Concert Stings II quarter division plus some little help from solo division.

I'm considering buying Concert Strings II or Diamond since there's a huge sale going on now. Would anyone care to offer his or her opinions regarding the two libraries? I am just beginning, and I only have the Kontakt/Komplete 8 library at my disposal. I need something that can give me a big jump-start. These are the advantages/disadvantages as I see them now:
Diamond:
Pros: Contains samples from sections other than strings, cheaper than CSII
Cons: Older than CSII (is there any clear inferiority when it comes to the strings?)
Concert Strings II:
Pros: Beautiful Strings
Cons: Only a string library (money is an object here, so this is important), It would cost be $200 as opposed to $140.
These are rather weak pros/cons, so I would appreciate some input. It all depends on what is most useful to me. Here are a couple songs that I've created using less than stellar instruments. Perhaps the styles of the pieces can help some people here recognize what I actually should spend on.

Would the strings be good for this composition? http://tindeck.com/listen/lclg
As I stand now, I think Diamond is the best choice considering the price-point and variety available. I'm not sure if it's missing articulations or if the strings are inferior though. Looking forward to responses.

On the demo page there is audio clip "Studio Violins No Vibrato" for Studio Strings 1. Sure sounds like the strings have vibrato, although it's not a strong vibrato. Is it possible to have a totally flat no vibrato?

Congratulations, they are all great. The second one could be easily the soundtrack of a recent Final Fantasy game.kcisANDderit wrote:2 more submissions...

Here is my new entry
I borrowed Nathan Milstein video
O. Novacek - Perpetuum Mobile
This demo is interesting for people interested in repetition notes solving by KH libraries.
I'm basically a pianist so this one suite me better. I used an external piano (pianoteq, hope this is permitted) and Solo Division Violin 1 from Concert Strings II library. Still in Kontakt player demo mode so I had to reload and re-set the instrument every 15 minutes
Cheers

Would you care to explain how you were able to play such fast notes? All I get is a nasty scraping noise because of the quick playing. I'd really appreciate some sort of tutorial.
